Hey everyone

I know there was a post quite a while back and one of you guys made fabulous little pill box 'hats'. I was looking for them (in the memories) and can't find. Anyone happen to have bookmarked the post/point me to the original poster? That would be LOVELY. Thanks in advance!

i've got an elna 2005 and i've been having problems with my tension. a few weeks back i attempted to make some buttonholes (very unsuccessfully too, I HATE MY MACHINES BUTTONHOLES) and since then the tension on my machine has been really off.

it doesn't seem to matter what i have it set on, its too tight. it doesn't look so bad on the underside, just a little crooked, but on the top its too tight and the bottom thread is being pulled through a bit.

i've read the manual (its not much help at all), rethreaded both the bobbin and the needle, i've even changed the needle on the off chance that it was something like that.

anyone got any ideas? i'm hoping i don't have to put my machine in for a service, as i'd like to use it tomorrow or on friday. its incredibly frustrating. walking away and coming back and suddenly being able to work it out just isn't working this time.

I have a handful of heels that I just adore and cannot part with just yet. The only problem is that the little protector on the end (the part that touches the ground) came off on some of these. I was wondering if anyone here had an idea of how I could reconstruct those little caps instead of having to go to a shoe repair shop. It needs to be a material that can be shaped in some way and yet durable enough to walk on and get a lot of use.

Thanks in advance!

Hello Crafters!
I have a quick question for those you in in the Chicago area or those
that have been to the Chicago area! I am taking a trip there this weekend and would love some recommendations for independent fabric stores that carry unique new or vintage fabrics. So I am not looking for the typical Joann, Hancock fabric stores. If you know of any, I would greatly appreciate your suggestions. I have been trying to do my own search throughout the internet but want to hear other's opinions about places to go. I've found the following:

Chicago Fabric Yarn and Button Sales
Fishman's Fabrics

So this post is not just a silly question, I have included a photo of my most recent work in progress, a quilt! It will be my first quilt that I have COMPLETELY designed myself.

Thanks in advance for your help with my Chicago question! I appreciate it.

Hey all, quick question. Recently I've gotten into making my own designs on the computer and printing them out, but all I have is regular printer paper and some photo paper. I'd like to try printing stuff on thicker matte paper, some lightly textured stuff, and so on, but after checking out the kinds of paper out there I'm a little overwhelmed. Can anyone recommend a type or brand of art paper that I can print on in a regular printer?

I got my dachshund Lucyfurr 6.5 years ago, we lived in an apartment at the time and our landlord who didn't really want us having a dog said that we had to pick up after her, which wasn't a problem but I found myself forgetting baggies when I would run her down the stairs and outside to go. There was also the problem of the heavy door slamming shut behind me so I needed to make sure I had my keys.

I came up with a pouch attached to her leash to house the baggies, some treats (because I was house breaking her at the time) and attached an extra key so I would never get locked out in the snow again. I've made a few new ones, I still have the first one I made, it's lasted longer than her leashes.

Hi there,

Last week I posted to this community, asking if anyone had any suggestions for an easy stuffed animal to make for my friends, who are expecting their first child in a few months. Thanks for your help! I ended up making a little stuffed bunny (his left ear isn't stuffed yet in the picture, though). He's kind of silly looking and lopsided, I know, but hell, it was my first try, and I think that actually makes him cuter, in a way.

I decided to name him Kevin and I just wanted to share him with you all!

Hello everyone!
This is my first post in this community and I just wanted to say that I have seen some fanfreakingtastic work!
So I want to share my projects with others.
I made this little guy from a pair of socks. I made him for my sister-in-law's birthday. His name is Argyle.

I had to hand sew most of him and I HATE hand sewing, so it was a chore for me. But I'm not going to let that stop me. :) Thanks for looking

Okay..I really need some help with something. I need to incorporate words into a piece of artwork...the trick is, they have to be words or terms not used in 1970 by a person my age (21)...and I'm coming up blank! Help me! lol I can't seem to think today, and google won't help me..

Here's a picture of a recent paintshop-curing-boredom experiment: )

I made this Bacchus Pendant, a design (the second of its kind) from my Silver Leaves Collection, a while ago -- but it seems I never got around to posting it. So, here it is, for your grapeviney pleasure:

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

As usual, the leaf is a one-of-a-kind replica of a real leaf, handmade in fine silver (.999 pure), and the "stem" bail is made from the same. The curly vines are made from sterling wire, for extra strength, as are the posts that the lepidolite stone bead "grapes" are on. The leaf was tinted with an oxidation chemical. This piece was a pain in my *ss for no particular reason, refusing to tint the slightest bit green for me, through weeks of efforts to that end. I was so glad to finish it and send the thing off, so I wouldn't have to growl at it any more. All the same, I'd love to make a full Bacchus necklace. I guess I'm a sucker for punishment.

Okay guys, I'm starting my first real sewing project tomorrow.

I'm making a tote using this website: http://www.supereggplant.com/archives/000216.html

basically, I need to ask: what do I need? fabric, obviously, but what do I use to make it... stiff? I'm pretty new to this.

Any tips would be much appreciated!

My buttons and mirrors were really popular at Art & Soul. I actually had these made before I went, but didn't have a chance to upload them.
