i have a question, im sorry this is text only:

my best friends birthday is coming up, and she LOVES sheep (when i say loves, i mean addicted hardcore). i bought her this plain white clutch and i want to stencil a sheep or two onto it, but im not sure what i can use.

its a vinyl/plastic purse, and i know that spray paint will eat it and keep it gummy forever, acrylic with or without textile medium won't adhere, and im not sure what WOULD adhere and be permanent. i was thinking they make that spray paint for plastic, but i dont have any experience with it so im really not sure if it would work or not...i dont really want to mess up the purse doing something stupid.

does anybody know anything about this? anything would be appreciated :)

I posted a link to the WORLD'S EASIEST MITTEN PATTERN in my previous post and dummy me, it was the wrong link!

So for those that are looking for the WORLD'S EASIEST MITTEN PATTERN, please click on this link:

http://www.joann.com/joann/about_joann/about_frame.jsp?url=joann.lionbrand.com/patterns/70201A.html&rId=EM101007HPROD1

Enjoy!

Alrighty, I'm retarded- I didn't realize that the URL didn't change when I was searching for this pattern.  Stupid Joann!

So whatever, under the cut you will find the actual pattern.

If you are wanting to go to the actual site, scroll down to the bottom of the joann.com homepage and you'll see the link for free knit and crochet patterns- just search for Santa mittens.  However, they have a whole host of neat patterns, especially good ones for those new to crochet or wanting to pick it up as a hobby.

upcycled books turned blank journals, resin jewelry, a scarf I made with my own handdyed/handspun wool.

I am having problems wiht my resin, though! I can sand edges and it's fine, but on things like my bangles I really need to be able to sand the entire bottom & when I do that it frosts the resin - am I using the wrong grit sandpaper, or is that just what is going to happen with resin if you sand large areas? Or is there some kind of buffing process I need to go afterwards,w ith a special oil or something? Also, anyone know a brand of cheap pigment for resin? I cant find any that isnt in packs, and I just need white! I tried using acrylic paint, dry watercolor scrapings, and chalk scrapings and none of those panned out well as pigments :P

I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of plastic that is used to make these necklaces that are so popular. It looks as though it is something that can be put through a printer as most of the images I've seen used are ones I've seen while surfing.

These were so much fun to sew, and I made them with my Mom's 50+ year old, black Singer that I recently became the proud owner of. Ah, the memories...I sewed all my clothes in high school with it. It still sews just as smoothly as ever.

Does anyone else use an old sewing machine at least sometimes to sew on? If so, what is it and how old is it? And, how did it become yours?

I'm relatively new to knitting, and am re-learning crochet(i hadn't done any in about 15 years when i picked it back up again recently)

I bought a Knifty Knitter long loom(#5, pink) because I liked the wrist-warmer shown on the front, and I could make it with that(i needed to be able to make some very quickly for work, i sit right under a vent and type all day, and my hands get icy).

I open it up, and it says something like "for instructions on picture projects, go to provo craft website"

which is "taking too long to respond".

*arg*!

so, does anyone have this pattern possibly saved somewhere accessible?

i'd really like to be able to crank these out tonight so i have them for tomorrow.

and so its not totally image-free )

I'm going to be working on a project in which I will need to use some form of air-drying clay, modeling agent, whatever. I also need it to be lightweight, so I though of Crayola Model Magic and Fimo Air-Drying Clay- have any of you used either of these before? When they dry, are they hard or do they stay kind of soft and springy? Thanks VERY much!

My mom has 5 recipes that I love, so I made a little 6 x 6 chipboard book with all of them in it.  I feel selfish for keeping it, but if my niece ever gets married, I'll gift it to her.

So, this is another Halloween Costume, but it is freaking awesome. My little sissy (who insists she isn't crafty) made it, and it's her in the pictures. Her high school (my former high school) had a Disney dress-up day during Homecoming week, and my sissy is not the princess-waiting-to-be-saved type. (She gave me permission to post the photos.)

A picture of the creature she is, and several more of her costume )

So, I'm being a horrible copycat, and doing this for Halloween. She gave me the scraps from her project, more than enough for another Heartless, and told me how to do it. In return...she's totally stealing my Christmas gift idea.

Also, for her sake, she wanted everyone to know that she fully realizes lowly shadows do not have the Heartless symbol on their chests. She was just afraid no one would recognize it if she didn't put something extremely specific to the game on there.

been trying to stray away from just felt plushies & make some with real fabric. It's harder to work with for me, most fabric I get frays easily, but the patterns just make things look so much better.

So, here's Four new plushies! )

ps. Can anyone direct me to a website that has fairly cheap faux fur and/or doll eyes? Thaaanks!

Hello crafty people! With the upcoming Halloween holiday, I thought this would be a great time to promote a new community that [livejournal.com profile] stargazercrys and I have come up with: [livejournal.com profile] eyeheart_crafts.

What is it? It's a community made for those with a love of crafting, but with a twist.

This is a place to discuss your plans and success in any crafts with a body part theme. (bodily fluids also welcome if you can find a way to craft around them) Photos are always encouraged as well!

Do you want to create a fetus bag with an umbilical cord strap or ovary earmuffs?
How about stencilling a ribcage and bleeding heart onto a t-shirt? (such as someone has just recently posted in THIS community *hint*)
Do you have plans to make a pincushion in the shape of a pierceable body part?
How about all of those wonderful vagina crafts that were posted about a year ago?

We could be the community for you!

Other body-part-related crafts you can come up with are also welcomed with open arms.
Not only do we accept these ideas, we encourage them.
So, come on--join our twisted little world and have a blast.
Show us how your brains work (quite literally, if you can).

Posting with Previous Permission from Mods

I was crafty this weekend and made some Halloween cards, some Christmas cards, and altered some tin barn stars for gifts.  I also put my jack-o-lanterns from last year under the cut, since it's that time of year & I don't think I shared them here before. :D

Thanks for looking! :D

Hey all. I'm just entering my 9th month of pregnancy (he's due Nov. 10th!) Provided I don't have him before or on Halloween, I was wondering if anyone had any idea's for a costume I could wear? I won't be going out anywhere that night (originally promised my boyfriends 12 year old nephew I'd take him T or Ting, but that was before I got knocked up, lol), because I might be on bed rest, but I'll be handing out candy to the kids. I need something that won't scare them, or give them a bad impression (so no pregnant nuns or that such, lol) I was at one point thinking of being a friendly witch (I am wiccan, so it'd make sense). I have a hooded cape. Any idea's? Also, I have almost no money so I got to do something with things from home.
