This shirt was a hand-me-down from a co-worker's daughter. It fit well, but I did some trimming of the sleeves and neckline to make it more "me". Then I took a slice of a random dark red T-shirt and made the waistband, which ties on the side.

For the skirt, I started with a lime green T-shirt with the Squirt logo on it. I had purchased the shirt in Panama for a few dollars and never really wore it because it was a little too stretchy and clingy for me. I liked the logo though, and I had a darker green T-shirt that I thought would make a nice background. I cut another piece from the dark red T-shirt and made the foldover waistband. Then I chopped the green T-shirt into 3 sections and made little pleats so it would flare out. I affixed the Squirt logo with Steam-A-Seam.

I still have sleeves, collars, and assorted scraps from the red T-shirt and the green one, just waiting to be incorporated into something new.

I was wondering if you could recommend an air drying clay with a minum shrinkage rate. I want to sculpt an object around an existing wall clock but I don't want the shape to break apart when it dries. I also hate sculpy.

Do you know how to transfer color photos to plexi glass?

Thanks for the help.

Do any of you button making peeps have the AC-1 rotary cutter? I need to change my blade but I lost the print-out that says how to do it and I can't find anything online. Can anyone help me pretty please? I tried to figure it out myself but all I managed to do was make my finger hurt.

Thanks in advance.

Backstory= I have a cutting board w/a tile insert that I absolutely adore. However, the wooden base of it is massively ugly and I would like to paint over it.

So my question is....are there any "food safe" paints out there??

I was thinking that even if there were not then perhaps I could paint it and find a "food safe" finish to apply over the painted area???

Any help here would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.:)

Does anyone have a clue on how to make a sticker into a patch?  I've a really cool sticker I want to put on my back pack without it peeling off.  It doesn't have to be water-poof or anything.  Thanks in advance.  (x-posted to diy_stuff & thequestionclub)

With tiny apartments comes tiny white walls....

I'm poor, but I try to at least decorate my dining room when holidays roll around. What goes with those wonderful white walls? White, of course! White candles to be exact. With blood. Because this is Halloween )

Craftgrrls!

So I had this plain black purse, and i decided to do some revamping. I sewed a Hendrix patch that I've had for a while. I also had this little plastic glow in the dark star, and i punched two holes in it to make it a button. :)

Hi there,

I have seen a bunch of people here, on Etsy and a gazillion sites with different merchandise, make crafts inspired by Harry Potter to sell, and I was wondering where you can draw the line before it is considered to be copyright infringement? I mean, it is JK Rowlings original character, but very much a part of pop culture nowadays, so different people are bound to be attracted by the idea of interpretong the characters etc in their own ways. I´m asking because I came up with some ideas myself, inspired by objects and sayings in some of the books, and am insecure how to go about with it.

Does anyone have any ideas or experiences they can share? And to not be text only, a lovely photo of Ron:

so.

Me and this friend love Welcome To the Black Parade, and me with my awesome(better described as ambitious, both feet first) sewing skills, have decided that we need Black Parade jackets.

When I joined the gym I got this bag free, but never used it because I thought it was ugly/boring so it sat in my cupboard for a few months. This weekend I decided I needed a new bag so I made it over.
