Lately I've been earringing, polymer claying and hair clippieing up a storm (yes, I'm verbing all of those.)
( Shall we? )
And just because I'd like everyone who was not intrigued by the above image to perhaps by intrigued by this new and improved cut, ( Family Guy, South Park, and Star Wars earrings! )
Also, if there are any Wicked fans out there, I made a Wicked wallet today for a commission. Pics to come (ps is the book really THAT good? Should I read it?)
First time ever - skirt and purse
Dec. 10th, 2007 11:04 am![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
For my birthday, my BFF sent me a ton of vintage fabrics she no longer needed or wanted.
I decided that I needed a skirt that was something other than black. Seriously. It's all I wear.
So, I went through the awesome fabrics and found this beauty:

It reminds me of tarot cards, but don't know exactly what they were going for, but I love it, so I turned it into a skirt.
I've never made a skirt before, but I had a tutorial on how to make a simple circle skirt.
It wasn't as simple as it looked, since I'm not a small girl.
I rigged it up and did what I could, and then I made a purse to match it.
( herein lies the product of many hours of sleepless work )

I've just started making jewellery and really appreciate some advice on a couple of things regarding some trinkets I've bought lately.
1) I bought some little plastic boxes that i would like to make into brooches. the problem is that the backs are hollow. What is the best product to use to fill them that I can attach a brooch pin to?
2) I also bought

should I attach a collar to them and make them into key chains? necklace pendants? I love bunnies :-)Knock Off Jewelry Box

I am just finishing this jewelry box I re-did for my daughter. I created Louis Vuitton knock off designs, plus the work of artist Takashi Murakami in the computer program Illustrator, then printed them on water slide transfer ink jet decal paper. I know it's derivative, but I couldn't afford the original, so I did this instead. I hope she likes it.

I am cleaning out my crafty stash, and before I give away 20 pairs of wooden chopsticks, I must beseech you for ideas. What the heck can I do with these?
getting rid of glue marks
Dec. 10th, 2007 02:11 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
hey my wonderful crafty girls/boys!
i need a little help here....!
well, i've been gluing swavoski rhinestone onto model cars with superglue (tried e6000 & it's not as great).
it stays on wonderfully, but the superglue leaves on the surface of the rhinestones :[
does anybody has any insight into how to clean that up?
here's a picture to help:

because of the glue, you cant really see the shininess/sparkli-ness of the rhinestones :[
( & to make this please-help-me post less annoying...... :b )

Hi! I checked all of the memories, and I don't think I saw anything about this sewing machine. I also couldn't find any reviews online. It is the Kenmore half-size portable. My mom is getting me a sewing machine for Christmas, and she is looking at this one. Has anyone had any experience with it? I like the size and portability, as I am living in a tiny NYC dorm room, and will be for the next two years at least, so that is definitely something I'm taking into account. Have you used it? Have you had any problems with it? Oh, and does it reverse stitch? I couldn't find out if it does, though I get the feeling it would.
Thanks so much for any input!

while getting my mom to let me dye at home is just about as hard as getting permission to fly over the pentagon, I managed.

The pockets could come from jeans and old pants, and I'd sew them front and back, and then hang lightweight items on the curtains, like all my iron on pieces and such. I think it'd be great, you now have so much storage, and you're not taking up any more room than the curtains already did, and the curtains w*ould hide the closet, and be double duty. I'm looking for denim curtains, I think. I know I have two yellow cream heavy curtains I could start w/ith too. Just have to find them lol.
Anyone Remember the Map Coffee Table???
Dec. 10th, 2007 10:47 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
Sorry for the question post but does anyone remember that awesome table that someone posted where she covered the top with a map?? She posted a great tute and I'd like to try it. I have looked all through the memories and can't find it.
Thank you to anyone who can remember who posted it or a link to it would be even better.
So, to make up for the mostly text-only post, here is a picture of my cat enduring a felt cupcake on his head:

I got a few requests for a tutorial on how to make that hat, so there's a picture heavy tutorial [complete with troubleshooting] behind the cut!
