Hey guys, I have a few dinners and Christmas parties all stuffed into the next couple weeks and I assumed I couldn't wear the same dress to everyone,so I dug out some extra material and made this pencil skirt :)

Please excuse the cheesy-christmas-attempt at vogue pictures, haha.

I'm a college student majoring in Human Services, and as a part of my requirements, I have a certain number of Practicums to do. This is my last one before I start my Internship. Technically my classes don't start till January 7, so all the time I've spent with the class so far is just volunteering, because I want to. They're a local class that goes to a Technical high school, which teaches trades like Horticulture, Cosmetology, Masonry, etc. while they are juniors and seniors. The class I've chosen to do my Practicum in is a Multi Disabilities class, full of 8 various special needs students. I saw [livejournal.com profile] stephc's posts about the Arm & Hammer Play Clay, and I wanted to make some so bad! I went to a local Menonnite store that has bulk supplies for the baking soda and cornstarch, so it ended up costing me about $ .50 to make an entire batch, and wrap them all up in the bags and tissue paper. I worked on these 2 weeks ago, and finished the personalization, strings, and wrapping today. I figured today was a perfect day since we've had just about a foot of snow fall since Saturday evening. The personalization was done with a green Sharpie, and then I went over that with a glitter green gel pen. It made it look like I used one of those expensive glittery paint pens! I'm very happy with how they turned out. I colored the batch green and made them into trees. I sprinkled clear glitter on them all before they dried, so it looks like they have snowflakes on them.

Here is an individual view of one I made for one boy:

I also made some for the teachers and various other staff members I know from when I went to the school. I can't wait to take them into everyone on Wednesday! I'd definitely make these again next year, they were so quick and easy to do!

Hello! I'm looking for some help.

I'm giving my friends paintings this year for christmas because that's really all I can afford right now.

My friend Tiffany is in love with Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Lovers brand, so I'm painting her the banana from the brand.

I need some help with the outline:

Hey crafters,

I am helping out my local Vagina Monologues this year (and last) by making crafts. I am looking for volunteers to donate crafts to our craft fair.

Overall our Vagina Monologues have raised $17,000 for various charities.

This year 20% of proceeds go to the Women of Katrina. The rest of the proceeds will be split between New Beginnings (a battered women shelter), Mosaic (a shelter for battered immigrant women), Parkland Rape Crisis Center, and a Texas Equal Access side program to help women in the community with job, family planning, and other resources.

Crafts can be anything pro-vagina, pro-women related. Last year I made purses, wallets, and other random things. (You can see them here, http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=150107.0)This year I am making a quilt, pillows, ribbon roses, paintings, note cards, and probably a few bags.

So far I have a tentative Yes to being able to pay shipping, within the US.

If you would like more info feel free to message me here or email me at demitrye@yahoo.com

Thanks!

[ Edit ] A bunch of people have asked so lets say I'd need them by the end on January (Since it goes on mid Feb.) As for how many pieces, as many as you like! We'll take anything :) Thanks guys!

Yeah, you should definitely start the new year out in style!

Reconstructed tees: tote bags. Andy Warhol, The Ramones.

Brand new shirts (never worn), denim reinforcement, black lining/straps.

Hey there, I have been a member of this community for a while now, but I don't think I've ever posted. I've finished a few things recently and thought I would share.

A little costume I put together with felt for the 2007 Ferret Christmas party Costume Competition. I tried to come up with something original for Elroy...here it is - the Xmas Plum Pudding!

Plum Pudding (top)

Plum Pudding (belly side)

Cut one snip to the centre of red felt circle.
Slide it into cone shape & glue.

It's hard work being a Plum Pudding

I'm snowed in my apartment in Buffalo, NY, so I figured it would be a good time to bust out the sewing machine! I made two sets of helmet covers for my roller derby team, as well as a pouch made out of roller derby material. Enjoy!

p.s. I HATE, HATE, HATE working with spandex and lyrca. They're what nightmares are made of.

Rollergirls do it on all fours! )
