I have these really comfy, stretchy pajama pants from Old Navy. They're really thin, and because I wear them all baggy and love them and wear them all the time, they've developed a couple tiny holes on the back. Every time the pants get washed, the holes get a little bit bigger.

The holes aren't on a seam, but I thought I might be able to close them before they progress any further. I was just a little hesitant and worried about the stretchiness of the material. They're 95% modal/5% spandex. If I sewed them, would the thread just cause more tension and create more holes? Or would it be ok?

Share you wisdom with me. I don't want to kill my favorite pants.

As I mentioned in this post I am making crafts for my schools production of the Vagina Monologues this year. Here is what I have so far (woo for a new digital camera, boo for bad lighting.)

Onward, to the vaginas! )

Whew. Thanks for looking at all of that. If you want to help by making a crafty donation read my previous post.

So the boyfriend and I go to Feast of The Hunter's Moon every year in the fall. A brief description from the website, "The Feast of the Hunters' Moon is a re-creation of the annual fall gathering of the French and Native Americans which took place Fort Ouiatenon, a fur-trading outpost in the mid - 1700s. It is held annually in early autumn on the banks of the Wabash River, four miles southwest of West Lafayette, Indiana."

Anyway, everyone usually gets dressed up and a few years ago his mother had a dress made for me. The thing is really more of a floral-patterned sack with arms and is possibly the MOST unflattering thing I've ever worn (oh and there is an apron too!) That being said I'm looking to make one of my own thats a little less... frumpy?

Does anyone know where I could find a pattern for a mid-low class woman's dress in mid-18th century (1730-1770) America? Is there someplace out there that does play/reenactment costuming that I'm missing?

And because you all were interested...

Chicken hats!

Hallo, crafty ones! You actually know me as rhiannontherose and b-r-c -- I just started making myself a more organized gallery space, and took a new name to go with it. Anyway, I just finished the most recent piece(s) in my Silver Leaves Collection...a pendant and earring set commissioned as a daughter's birthday gift to her mother. (Awww.) It and its details are over in the gallery, but posting here is more fun, because of the feedback. :-)

Anyway, here it is. The photo isn't the best, but lighting just wasn't playing nice for me, and I had to get it sent off.

So what do you think? I know the earrings aren't as vibrantly colored as the pendant, but I was lucky to get them to match each other as well as they did.

crafts!

Crafty ones! I'm making 3 rugs for my new dorm and they're gonna have the whole "peace, love and happiness" deal on them. The first two have a peace sign and a heart, but I don't want to make a happy face one. Instead, I want to put something completely random. Any ideas?? I was thinking putting a pretzel, but I'm worried I won't have enough pretzel-colored material...

Get all creative and help me out! TIA
