So a while ago I posted the beginnings of my roses that I was making for the bouquets for my wedding- I figured I should show off the final products- I have some more corsages and boutineers to go...

Onward to flowers! )

so my old bag was falling apart and i've given up on buying most bags b/c they don't fit things like large sketchbooks, also, i like to have one of a kind things :)

this is what came out of a bad old dress from salvy's (see above), some other fabric i had laying around and some quilt batting, so i can use my bag for  a pillow and it'll hold up longer...

I was wondering if any of you who make books and the like have a particular kind/brand of binding thread you use? I'm checking on Google, but I wanted to see if anyone had personal recommendations.

Thank you!

I've been doing some glass fusing lately, looking to buy a medium sized kiln. Any advice on types or where to buy? I'd prefer used due to prices.. but we'll see.

Some of my first work (better stuff has already been given away!)

These are mainly window hangings and a vase tile.

I want to make a slouchy beanie for my boyfriend- only problem, I can't knit or crochet. So I want to sew it from knit fabric, maybe using a second hand sweater or else thick sweatshirt fabric. This is the sort of shape I'm going for.

But I'm not sure how to go about drafting the pattern- whether I should make a kind of tube and sew a circle on the top, or make it from four pieces, or just two semi-circle shapes together. Here is my hopefully not totally unintelligable sketch of those three pattern ideas... dotted line showing opening of hat, crossed lines showing where the seams would be.

this is just to show my friend some pattern ideas

Can anybody give me any advice? I'll be sure to post the finished product. Thanks!

Hey there!
I've got a question about copyright & making diy band t shirts. Is it all good and legal to make band t-shirts using the band's name so long as you don't use any copyrighted logos/images/etc?
& A couple of jewelry pieces I've made recently. I've been looking through my 'fruits' books way too much! )

Thanks!

The shipping was super fast and oooooh there is so much to choose from. I'm going to make the "animal news" print into a new tote for moi and the pink flannel will be used in my first attempt at making pj pants. I'll be sure to show the results :)
