i thought you guys might think this is cool; it doesnt serve a purpose, but im a graphic design major in college and this was a project i did some time last year - we had to design a form of packaging, so i had my own spiel off of jones soda, in which i designed the labels, the carry carton, everything.

and for the record, no, thats not soda in those bottles. its colored water to go with the color label. :)

Hello all! I've checked in the memories and could not find anything on this, so now I shall post it to you! When you felt something 3D (like a knitted plushie), do you stuff it and sew it up and felt it - completely finished, or felt the seperate pieces and sew/stuff, or do you sew it, leave it unstuffed, felt, and then stuff it and sew up the opening after it dries? Does this even make any sense? Can someone please be my knight in wooly armor?

Phew!

My name is Holly, nice to meet you all!

This is my first post here, but I wanted to wait until I had something extraspecially special to post. I will put the photos behind a cut so you're not spammed too much, but this sucker took me about 2 weeks of blood, sweat, and tears (that explains why one of the corners was soggy, oops!) so I want to show it off!

So without further ado, here it is...

I would really love to make more of these, but considering the time involved and the amount of materials, I think they're going to have to be a commission-only thing. Although I do have plans to try a GameBoy, soon! One of the old chunky ones because I'm not game enough (bad pun! I probably should have said masochistic enough) to try creating a flip lid like the DS's have.

So
please feel free to come over to my crafting blog, [profile] twocheeseplease, where you can see me get down and dirty and wrestle with my inner craft monster.

This is Theodore. He is at that in between stage of life where he still has to grow into his feet and still has some of his soft down.

He is approximately 2.7 inches tall from base to head and 4 inches long.

OK group, I'm in need of some advice.  I've been pretty busy this last week and this weekend was my only chance to finish up a swap I have to mail out tomorrow.  It had to be something of my choice that I made myself.  I chose a windchime thinking I had all the stuff for it.  Unfortunately, I was missing the chimes and jewelry wire.  I realized this AFTER I had the base welded and painted.  Sigh.  So I found some copper tubing, cleaned it up and made chimes, strung it all together with jute and dangled one of the fused glass strikers I had posted last week.  Does it look cheap and shabby?  I spend all day yesterday on the welded part and my morning trying to make ther rest, so I did put some effort into it...However, I can probably make something better in a few hours if you think it looks crap.  I'm not as happy with it as I want to be.  So, Yes?  It sucks, go make something decent? Or no, It's nice and she will love to get that in the mail.  Feed back is appreciated.  Thanks all.

I don't recall posting here yet, but I've been lurking for a while. Then again, I might have posted here and just don't remember! Wouldn't be the first time. :p

Yesterday I finally finished some projects I've been working on since November. My SO works at Hot Topic and I made these for her co-workers. I'm glad to be finally done with them. They don't take that long to make (the one I made for myself I did in 3 days) but I also had to make a Slytherin scarf for one of her other co-workers. That took a long time to finish.

I have some more shots (plus progress shots) here. I didn't make the pattern. I used this pattern for the normal Zeros. For the scarves I used that pattern, this one and some of my own brain work.

I just had to share what I made today.
It reminds me of the stuff I wore in the 80's (I'm dating myself, aren't I?) all filled with charms and tinkly sounds.

Ok, the windchime was just getting to me.  I decided to go ahead and make another birdfeeder/candleholder so I have 1 for each of my partners for this swap.  This is the finished one.  It is the first of this design I tried so there is alwarys room for improvement of the prototype, but I'm so much happier with it overall than the chime.  The second one is still wet with paint, so I may not get it posted until morning, but here is one of the feeders/candle.

For those of you that have done the whole fusing plastic bags together... a few questions

It says to use "Parchment paper, freezer paper or plain old copier paper"
Well, I don't have the first two things ... but the third thing ...copier paper? As in printer paper? Regular old white sheet paper? Is that what they mean?

What did you use?
Can i use wax paper? (prolly not, eh?)

As a respectable goth, I hate the light, especially when I'm trying to sleep. Thus, I wear one of those handy eye mask things to bed. You know the ones.

However, all the ones I've owned were pretty crap. They all had elastic to go around the back of your head, which always stretched, meaning that I'd have to tie a series of knots in the elastic to get it to not fall off my face during the night. Most were made of nasty polyester fabrics, which, when sweated upon, wouldn't absorb anything, and you'd spend the night with a face full of sweat. Gross and smelly.

So, I thought, I can do better than that! And so I did.

Sorry about the spam :P I have to do things in batches because I'm lazy.

Inspired by several people's fantastic monster rugs, here is my own!
