1. Thank you for all of the ideas.  I was so inspired, that I took my day of rest and got crafty with it.

they all look a little homemade, I need to get a little better before I start giving them as gifts to people, but I had a blast to say the least so I thought i should share.

Sorry for the text only post but I need some help locating an item.

Does anyone know where I could purchase some simple white wooden boxes atleast 7-8" wide?  I want to make a graffitied box for a friend of mines birthday who is a DJ and has a bunch of 45's and no way to house them.

Anyone got any suggestions?  I'm not so crafty with hammers and nails, otherwise I'd try to build them myself...  But  can do something that comes with instructions and some assembly required... if that makes any sense.

Thanks!

Baking is crafty right?! Well I got this recipe off of the craftster.org forums. It's the rainbow cheesecake!!! It came out amazing, I was really nervous because a) I've never made a cheesecake before and b) this is my first time straying away from boxed mixes!! I wanted to make my mom some kind of cake for her birthday, and this seemed fitting. RAINBOWWWW NOMNOMNOMNOM )

Annnd it was a hit!!! It was actually very easy to make! I'll def make it again. I will bake the brownie longer though. I was scared it would burn while baking for the 2nd time with the cheesecake on top but it was sill gooey inside (I got no complaints though, ha!). I used all neon food coloring and it came out so pretty!!

I also made a keylime pie that same day! I had a craving after I spotted a bottle of key lime juice hahaha (yeahh totally 8 months pregnant! hahaha cravings galore). And that was also delicious and very easy to make!!

Question!

Hi, everyone! Sorry for the text only post but I have a question.

I need to make a specific type of jewelry using my own art. I would shrink it down and print it on some decent paper. I want to turn it into a pendant, or charm of some sort. What could I attach this to, and furthermore, how would I seal it so that the art would be preserved and not peel off?

Here's an example of what I'm going for:

Any ideas?

Thanks guys, you're great as usual! :)

Today is Palm Sunday, so I made some crosses from the palm fronds we received in church:

I've posted the step-by-step for the plainer version (without the X across the front) in my wordpress blog, and will post another photo tutorial tomorrow showing the step-by-step of how to make the fancier version.

Oh, I'm so happy with how these finally turned out!. I originally had the idea back in September and after many months, the final product is complete. This is one of my new "Art wristlets".

Just a quick celebration. Don't you love that feeling when you have an idea in your head and it turns out EXACTLY how you imagined?. Also super happy to finally have a reason to pull out the sewing machine.. This is my first piece where everything I love is combined, and I think it shows!. It's going to be hard to let go of, but I hope whoever receives it will value the fact it's the very first in this design.

It features one of my quirky illustrations on professionally printed fabric (from a third party company), bordered by handsewn Japanese toho beads and Kayann Works own signature metal designer tag for authenticity. This is no iron on, that's for sure!. :)

What do you guys think!?. Crossing fingers I added a unique twist.

Hooray!! Time to go celebrate.

SO I was at Shamrockfest in DC the other day, and saw yet another girl in that super excellent Kittyville hat. I decided to stop coveting and start knitting (despite spring and the end of hat season creeping around the corner), but one look at the pattern reminded me that I am A-LAZY and B-the proud owner of a seriously big head.
Ugly sweater felting to the rescue!
