I was inspired by a previous post where someone had posted a lovely photo of a necklace beaded using ribbon instead of the usual wire. Today, I visited the local bead shop and picked out several large beads that can be used with necklaces beading with ribbons. I've looked all over the net at tutorials on beading with ribbon and different technical ideas, including combining ribbon AND chain (though I'm not quite sure I'm ready for THAT just yet, though it looks exciting). I had checked out ribbon at Michaels a couple of days ago, and for one measly bit of silk ribbon, they wanted 3 dollars. enough to make one necklace. I'm thinking of hitting up JoAnn's this weekend to see if I could find something a bit more substantial. My question is, however, is what sort of ribbon should I get? Are there are certain materials that are better than others? Some that will hold up better than others? Some that will look better in the long run? I don't mind spending a little extra if it means a better quality piece, especially since I'll be selling them on etsy and I don't want to have a reputation of selling poor quality necklaces. Any suggestions would be fantastic. I'm excited to get into making some more interesting crafts instead of boring beaded necklaces that no one seems to want no matter how high quality they are.....

Hey guys, this is my first post here. I had a lot of spare bracelets and ribbons that I found recently, and I decided to make a dreamcatcher for my friend from inpatient treatment. I'm going to mail it today, and just wanted to share with you all! (although it's not very good!) I hope you like :)

I have about 8 billion yards of some really nice, pretty, fabric ribbon, that's about 2.5 inches wide. I bought it because I found it (as in the whole damn roll) in the thrift store, and for .50 cents, if it looks like a craft supply, it's mine. That said: I have no earthly idea what to do with this stuff. Anyone have suggestions?

I have a sewing machine and I'm not afraid to use it, but I don't know how many things I can possibly border with it, and I do not quilt often enough, or seriously enough, to use it as binding.

As the presents pile up, I'm noticing a lot of really gorgeous holiday ribbons (the lovely fabric and fabric/wire kind) tied around the packages.

Anybody have any ideas as how to reuse these (other than wrapping for next year)? They're probably no longer than 1-2 ft each, varying widths, and none really matching except that they're holiday-ish in theme.

Asking in advance because I probably won't keep them if I can't think of a way to use them again. THANKS!

I finished the first of a giant batch of rosettes today. I've got pieces cut out for about 80 more though. I make them with a glue gun, felt and vintage ribbon. I've already got a couple of mild burns to show for my trouble. My aim to is make around 10 a day until I've got all the bits of my ribbon stash used up.

Hi girls, it's been forever since i've posted, but I really would love your help...
I'm almost done with making this gothic lolita head piece and I have ribbons hanging down on each end and as the tie for around the neck...
I was wondering what would be good to make the ends of the ribbon not fray?
