I just made finished my first mini art quilt. I got inspired from the latest edition of Stampington Magazine.......its sorta cheesy, a gift for my mothers birthday so it has pictures of our teeny family on it..........i think it looks better in real life - but you can really tell its my first time just the same. Hi all, next week i'll be getting a body pillow, but i don't want to pay the same amount maybe a bit more for the pillow cases.. Would it be possible to just use a plain single sheet cut to fit (but with a bit of room so it fits in), sew up the end and then add velcro or push buttons at the other end? I'm hoping to be able to decorate the cover some how.. or is there a easier way to do this?

but i couldn't find any posts on this. maybe i'm blind, i dunno.
ANYHOO, does anyone have a pattern for a tie, or a place where I could get a free tie pattern? The closest I've come was finding a vintage pattern for sale online, but I can't order online.
Anyone?
i guess if need be, i could always rip open an ugly tie and use THAT as a pattern.
Thanks in advance!
(btw, does anyone else have as much trouble tying ties as I do? It took me more than 30 minutes to figure out a stupid windsor knot. but i can do it now!)

And when I made them, I was bored. It was a few years ago now, but they're still one of the most unique things I wear, and sure to catch attention. Nothing like people asking "Where did you BUY that?" with awe in their voice, only to tell them you made it. :D

Well I got up this morning and immediately went to work finishing the purse I started last night. It's a little smaller than the other two I have posted. This one is all about summer :)

Check it out! )

i have tons of grosgrain ribbon in all sorts of yummy colors. it was 5 for a $1.00 at Michaels and I thought I'd find something to use it on. so far i'm just using it on greeting cards and when wrapping small gits. any crafty suggestions??

Thanks for everyone's help on my pit problems. I still am unsure of what kind of deodorant to buy, I'm thinking to try something without any metals, for starters...I have Tom's all natural deodorant but haven't tried it... though I don't want any of my favorite shirts to be guinea pigs... =(

Anyway, so now two of my shirts are unwearable beacause of the bleachy pit stains. However, the prints on the front are still fine:

This is my beloved tiger shirt. The tiger is about 5x6 inches. You can see some stupid bleachy stains in the pic.

And this is the other shirt. That's FELT by the way... this logo is about 5x3

What are some things I can do with these now?

I was looking for things to help me procrastinate, and I came across this pattern for a mailable fabric envelope. It looks really cool! We should make them and mail them to each other with something cool inside.
pattern, ho!

Hey, I just joined. Ever since this semester's Clothing Construction class I've become obsessed, but my parents' sewing machine is rather.. well it's horrid. Thing never works. I was just wondering if anyone had something fun I could make without one, and instructions on how to do it?

Thanks (8

I posted here a while ago about AOL cds and i forgot to "memory" the post and I cannot find it anymore....so....

I have 3 aol cd tins that I would like to trade.

I'm looking for funky fabic or yarn (i like pink and red best), fake fur, things to decoupage with (cool pictures), any sewing acutraments, or any crochet stuff. Any cool home-made craft would be awesome too (I love getting hand-made things!). Let me know if you are interested here please!

After going out last night I stopped to get gas in my car, and get more cigarettes.

Now I've seen the exotic blend camels probably 100 times in the past few weeks, but I didn't buy any until last night. I'm not much for flavored cigarettes, but the new camel cigarettes are fabulous. anyway...

They come in a cute little hinged tin! I'm guessing it's a 3x3 square, they hold so much possibility.

I don't know if this has been mentioned before but if there are any crafting smokers out there, you should try them, or find some smoking friends and have them save their tins :)

ok, that's it i guess. :)

I am a nut case and decided that I wanted to make a magnetic change purse to go with the last purse I made (not the one from this morning). So if you are interested in the final product and/or the directions....

Take a look! )

One time I bought a pack of altoid mints, it was like, 4 regular sized tins of mints and one mini sized tin. So when I finally finished all the mints, I needed to do something with the mini-tin. So I made a little change holder for myself. I just printed out a picture of money and mod podged it onto the tin.

Here are the pics

hat & cuffs made with Crystal Palace Yarns 'Fizz' in Bouquet.
i looooove it. it's soooo soft and was surprisingly easy to work with once i got the initial chain going.

i just used pretty much all half double crochet stitches with a size K needle and made a huge rectangle, folded it over and stitched the edges together.

I've been getting headaches in the morning cos my hair is always slightly damp and the house is just too cold. [i dont turn the heater on cos its wasteful to heat the whole house just for me whilst my housemates are at work. my hair dryer is insane as well. it never dries my hair] So anyway, i made one of these.

1.I made the pattern myself by folding my beanie [just a normal one for skiing] in quarters.
2.I traced it out on some paper. cut it out. and cut 4 pieces of grey fleece out too.
3.Next i made the ears too of course.
4.Sew it all together...ta DA!

Now my head is warm and comfy. I'm going to try make one for my boyfriend too but what animal? heehee SUGGESTIONS!!

Available for trade or sale click here and while u are there , please check out my other tradestoo. Thanks!
