i'm looking to buy small containers for a project i have in mind. I need at least 200-300 of these so the cheaper the better. if anyone has used loreal colour experte, i was thinking about those plastic capsules, but other things that might also work are little glass bottles (teeny tiny i mean), or even film canisters with the lids.

anyone know where to buy something like this online? plastic would be much better than glass though because i plan on shipping these.

neckness.

this one is my latest "sitting around on a slow day just blindly crocheting" project, which was originally going to be a hat, but i got lazy and made it a neck wrap. hehe.

i call it the "what's growing from your neck?!" wrap. hehe.

If you'll recall, the other day I posted a pic of a pink and black plaid backpack I made. I also mentioned in that post that said backpack reminded me of my best friend and inspired me to do something else. This is the something else:

This is Lenore, for those who don't know. She stars in her own comic adventure. I, personally, don't read this comic, but my best friend is obsessed.

So now I'll probably make her a little purse from the pink plaid fabric I have left and attach this patch. Heh.

Patch made on a canvas-like (might be a thin canvas for all I know) cream material with acrylic paints modified with fabric medium. I printed out 2 images - one all black and white, and one in color. Put the B&W one on top of some carbon paper and traced. It didn't work out very well so I still ended up doing most of it freehand. *sigh* Thought about leaving it just black and white, then decided to color it in. Which took hours because I'm a perfectionistic psycho (as mentioned before).

And there you go.

I should probably just learn to silkscreen. ;) I might save myself time. Ah, but I do like painting.

The pictures don't really do it justice - there's a gradiation of color in the background and such.

:)

Let me start off by saying that this is the best community ever, and that I can't wait until my last exam (two weeks!) so I can start being crafty again!

One of my main "crafts" that I do is collage. Usually I just cut up magazines etc, but when flipping through my chem book today, I realized that some of the charts and photographs in it would be really great to use. Unfortunatly I am not ready to cut up a book that cost me 150 bucks. I was thinking I could scan (maybe photoshop a bit) and print them, but my printer is a few years old and I'd like something with some better quality if I'm going to use it for collage.

Do any of you have a really nice printer that you'd like to recommend?

Thanks!

Hey

A friend of mine is giving me a guitar amp that he had planned to sell - I thought this was supernice and I thought I'd make him a thankyou present. Does anyone have any ideas? I can turn my hand to pretty much anything - I thought something to do with guitars would be good (but I don't have the fixings for a strap). I'd be excited to read your ideas.

Thanks alot ladies

Hey everyone, my name's yael (just call me ellie) and i'm a newbie.
i've been lurking around here, and have become inspired many times.

anyway, this sounds a bit weird, but i have a bunch of cute socks (with cows, union jacks, and just fun stuff) that have holes all over! i don't want to throw such awesome designs away, but what can i do with them (i don't want to make any sock animals)?

of course, the socks are clean. : ) : )

in my clothing class, im getting ready to make a skirt. im using a mccall's pattern and i went out and bought all of the materials i'll need for it. i dont have the pattern folder with me, so im not sure what this ribbon ) is quite for. oh well, guess i'll find out tomorrow. im confused because its not a wrap around skirt. so, has anyone used a mccall's pattern to make a skirt? ive only used simplicity so im thinking this wont be as easy going.

So one day while I was shopping I tried on these low-rise stretch jeans that fit me PERFECTLY. I thought the way they were sanblasted was kind of weird, but I convinced myself that anything that made my ass look THAT good was worthy of being bought. And so I did, and of course, to this day I've only managed to wear them twice. They're just so weird!

Anyway, I'm not sure what to do with them now, I don't want to waste such an awesome fit. I was thinking of RIT dye or something, but don't I need to boil what I'm dyeing? I don't think I have a big enough pot to stuff my jeans in...

Oh well--

take a look )

When making beaded necklaces, how do people keep the ends of the tigertail from poking out? I tuck them under the beads, but no matter what, the little buggers find their way out and start poking me! I've tried using clear nail polish to stick the beads that are covering the ends together, but it never lasts. Does any one have any suggestions? I've been making these necklaces on and off for six years, and I still can't get this right.

Alrighty, put on your thinking caps... this is an odd thing to ask about, I know. I use the elastic hair ties that dont have the metal piece, but my hair is so thick that I go through these hair ties pretty fast... the elastic breaks Like this )

So the question is... what can I do with these? I hate to throw them away because I like to save everything (I know, I know). The elastic is to small to make bracelets, I think. Any ideas?
