I'm wondering if anyone has a pattern for a
"tulip shaped bucket hat," like the one on this site.

Thanks!

Hi everyone! *waves*
Erm, just wondering how many people have heard of [or ordered from] the soap kitchen it's a UK site, I ordered from them yesterday and usually you get some kinda notification or something...well I'm still waiting. Since it's not my credit card that I used I was wondering if anyone had bought anything from there before...?

Thanks x

i don't know if anyone else reads ym here but the new issue with amanda bynes on the cover has tons of crocheted and knitted inspirations in it. there is a whole spread of people wearing hats, legwarmers, sweaters, and other stuff. i want ot make ALL OF IT.

i need a good adhesive for fabric. it will not be worn or washed, but it will be moved around. so it needs to be very stong (loads of bonding power) and a little flexible. sewing is not an option.

E6000?
silicon sealer?
liquid stitch (if i can find it)?

any other suggestions? what do you think would work best, any first hand experience with these limitations and requirements?

Hey everyone <33

I love the purses at lekkner.com, and I wondered how I would go about making one shaped this way.
http://www.lekkner.com/handbags_Xsept.html

I like how they seem so shaped. Is that just interfacing? If I had the money to buy one, I'd do it - just to see how many pieces there were, & how they are shaped. Anyone know of a pattern, or anything that could help me?

I've used iron on transfers before........the kind you print the picture on your printer then iron it on to the fabric. They always had a "halo" or border of the iron on medium around the image and i don't care for that look.
Do they make some kind of iron on transfer paper that doesn't leave anything around the picture?
I want to use it for text only and it will look wierd if there's a halo around the text.

there were a pair of leather, pink ballet slippers (possibly by adidas) with tan-yellow rubber soles on them - and i'm wondering how i'd go about sole-ing a pair of regular leather, split sole ballet slippers - ie what kind of glue to use that would accomodate walking, and WHERE i would find that sort of sole, or material.

this isn't' the shoe i'd seen, but these are the soles i'm talking about: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2860014210&category=3037

also: do you have any idea how to go about making frog rainboots from scratch - ie from a regular pair of rainboots? the only adult one's i've found do not stand up in cuteness to the wellipet ones.

When I started high school, my mom bought me a special box designed for saving letters, cards, tickets, etc...now, nearly a decade later, that box is kinda full, to put it mildly :-)

So, I looked around and couldn't really find anything like the one I had. I DID have a small, plain brown box at home - and tons of craft ribbon, from when my mom used to do floral arrangements. I used ribbon to cover the top and sides of the box, and decorated the edges in white lace...

I haven't really had the time or energy to do anything too crafty lately, but I'm really pleased with how this came out! It didn't really cost me anything, and only took about an hour or so.

See a pic! )

Hey everyone

I've posted questions in the past and gotten amazingly fast and creative responses so I'm going to try again. It's nice having such a collaborative creative brainstorming team out there!

I'm throwing a halloween party with some close friends helping out (so appreciated they are!) for a group of people roughly around 20-30. Its at my home in the country, and we are having it half outside and half inside a barn (specifically if it turns out to be quite cold at night) We'll also have a bonfire outside. The theme is a Masquerade Party. I chose this so that my friends didn't have to spend a lot of money and time on costumes, since we are going to be outside no point in them getting dirty, and because they can wear warmer clothes and just do flourishes in capes, cloaks, masks, headwear, etc.

Anyway, getting to the point, I'm trying to come up with good decor ideas. My friends and I are brainstorming good smart adult party decorations but we are coming up a bit short. We'd like the decorations to be more interactive and not just for show. For example we're thinking of having a graveyard in a nearby field with tombstones featuring the guest's name, date of birth, etc that the guests can wander through.

I'm also wanting to do some kind of mystery creepy game that can be played throughout the night but not necessarily continously.

Here's the thing though, we're having trouble finding good websites that have good ideas for adult parties. And I feel that you guys are the best group to approach for ideas and websites that you may know of to get good ideas from. So if anyone can help, we'd be very much appreciated.

We are also working on a constrained budget, and the party is going to be on November 1st, so we have a good window of work time.

Thanks in advance!

Newly designed bag:

This project took me awhile to finish because I hate the part where you have to sew in the lining and strap. Rawr. I think its one of the smaller bags I have made. I finally put it all together a few weeks ago, I just never got around to taking pics and posting online. The pic is kind of crappy because its the same one Im using to post into other selling communities, so it was hard to cram big images into one small little box.

Anyways, its black w/white polka dot material, red lining, and a red felt heart on the bottom.

What do you all think?

I found these patterns a while ago and wanted to share, specially since the anniversary of his death is coming soon. I haven't made them, but I hope someone enjoys them.

I am in the process of knitting my little bro a Slytherin scarf for my little bro and am itching to make myself a Ravenclaw scarf (pic to follow). The colours in the book are a medium blue and a bronze. What does bronze yarn look like? I found this great scarf http://knit.atypically.net/scarves/hogwarts/pattern.shtml but can't find the colours they recommend or something else I like. Any suggestions on yarns? I'm in Canada which makes things a little more complicated.

Thanks!

So I recently found this book among my pile of rubbish and I can't figure out what to do with it.
pics )

I was thinking of putting decorating the pages with things, stapms, photos, cut outs, that make me think of that color, or things that give me the same feeling of that color. Whatcha think? Any other ideas? I got a lot of pages here!

Oh an if anyone wants to help by adding a page or 2 I'll be happy to send it to you do decorate (not the cover tho, thats gonna be my thing, whatever it is) as long as you want to pay the return postage. =)
