I got a new AOL cd in the mail today. They are made of a wood like material. So look out for them. Now wondering what to make out of them.

I have painted some boring frames with nail polish and glued on some goodies. Now they are pretty. In spite of my terrible attempts at photography!

While I don't know that I would follow the directions on this page *verbatim*, I *was* thrilled to find this link... now I finally have a use for all those Hello Kitty stickers and pink glitter (not to mention feather boas) that I have collected over the years! And I'm sure all the other researchers at the Bibliothèque Nationale will be *way* impressed with my professionalism and flair! http://www.exonome.com/fj/phkl/

Chocobo marionette!

He's made out of fun foam and styrofoam balls, with lead fishing weights inside his beak and feet, to give them some substance.

A picture and some movies inside )

I recently saw someone post a duct tape messenger bag, and I did not realize this at the time I saw it but it would make a great belated birthday present for my friend Liz...so if anyone could give me a link to that fabulous crafter's post...yeah.

I'm making 2 piece swim suit.

Very easy, very cute.

My question is this:

Can I line it with another layer of the material I'm using for the outside? Or must the lining be that ugly "nude" colored stuff? I have enough material to line it 2x with the swimsuit fabric, but is this not a good idea to do???

I found a really neat lace overlay 50's dress to wear to a formal. Bad part is, its pretty much the same color as my skin and kinda bland. I was thinking of dyeing it, but it has sequins at the top and a synthetic lining and tulle puffer thing. I love the dress but I just wish it was a different color. Is this something I should try to do on my own, or could an alterations shop do something with it? I looked at the FAQ on dyeing lace and it seems feasible enough, but i worry about the sequins and other delicate stuff at the top. Any ideas?

as loving, but poor girls me and my friends thought it would be nice to get together and make little easter baskets filled with candy, fun stuff, and cards in them for our guy friends since they are all surprisingly single, unlike us their only four girl friends, us.

however baskets can be expensive and i was hoping someone could give me quick ideas on how to maybe make a cheap basket or make something else to present like two dyed eggs, candy, a small card, and small trinkets.

thank you.

just finished a purse for my friend.
this is the first one i've made for someone else..i generally avoid making them for other people, because they won't tell you if they really like it or not.
but this is probably the sturdiest and most clean-cut purse i've made so far.

anyways.. two pictures. )
