Does anyone know where i can find a make your own stuffed animal kit?

I know there is a company that sells the kits with everything included (eyes, nose, fur) you just need to sew the peices and stuff it. I can't find them anywhere though. We made them in home ec. in high school but i wouldn't even know where to begin to find something like that.

Any help??

I've been cross stitching for a few months now, mostly counted, fairly simple projects. I've been cheating on the counting by marking a grid on the cloth with a regular pencil (which washes out fairly well, but not completely). I'm about to start a really complex pattern, on pure white cloth, which will be a wedding gift. I don't want to have a faint grid on the cloth.

My question is this: What can you guys suggest as a good way to mark the grid? Do those disappearing ink pens really work? How quickly do they disappear? Would I have to keep reapplying to have the grid on there while I'm working?

I've tried the washout pencils before, but the tips are too broad to effectively mark "on the holes" of Aida.

Help!

Hello!
I am wondering if anyone has seen any paper item with a sushi print. I don't really care if it's gift wrap, a greeting card, or just a print. I'm trying to make a journal and would like the cover to have a sushi print. I have visited my local asian market/gift store and have not found anything that has any sort of sushi print. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank You !!!

Hello I was in Toronto and saw a few really awesome shops of unique handmade clothes...so it got me thinking that I really really wanted to do something like this. But I don't wanna sell my stuff for $100 bucks and I also can't afford a whole shop myself. My boyfriend gave me the idea that I should get a bunch of crafters together who split the cost of a shop, weekly or monthly meetings and put some of their stuff in it and recieve all the profits...so I guess like a collective that could do craft lessons and stuff like that as well. Has anyone ever tried this or knows of any people who are doing this? I think it would be an excellent way to 1. create some awesome crafting community in the diy spirit and 2. skip people's bullsh*T consignment fees where I'd get only like 40%. I'd much rather do trades to put stuff up for someone who can't afford a shop anyway... We also talked about how food not bombs was just a couple kids who started and then people everywhere knew that and felt they could do it too....I wonder if this could work as well..... Anyone in Massachusetts interested in seriously discussing starting something like this?

I bought some round bamboo handles from Joann's and I want to crochet myself a purse and somehow attach the handles to it. Does anyonw have any ideas on how to do that?

Sticking with my clear duct tape addiction. *giggles oo i made a funny* I have made 2 new wallets and a new purse. I wish the clear duct tape didn't leave so much of a glare so you could actually SEE the detail of the photos behind it. But oh well.

I made a reversible tote purse. The pattern I drew up is behind the cut

here is the pattern I drew up for the tote )

It is pretty self-explanitory. I drew the tote with the finished measurements. Use that as the guide. You will have to add about half an inch all around for all pieces except the handles for seam allowances (add more or less with what you are comfortable with. I added 1/2 inch and then trimmed it close for a lined tote. You can add less as a seam allowance for an unlined tote and serge the edges or maybe do like a blanket stitch on the hems because they will show on the inside of the bag).

When I made my lined tote I made two out of different fabrics (a heavy canvas twill for the outside, and some regular cotton leftover from another project as a lining). I just made both totes the same size, but didnt sew on the handles. Then, wrong sides touching, put the liner inside the bag, and then folded the top down about half an inch inside. I then pinned the handles into place in between the two liners, and sewed it down. It sounds a bit difficult, but when you have all the fabric and pices in front of you it does come together :)

For the handles you just fold them over themselves, and then tuck a little bit in so the rough edges don't show. You can fiddle with it and see what you like best!

Hope you like it guys!

a rainy day can be really depressing for me... rain sometimes really makes me feel down for some reason.

but i felt a little better today after observing how beautiful our campus can be, despite the rain... once springtime comes and the flowers begin to bloom... i guess whenever i'm sad about the rain, i should think about the flowers. flowers can only blossom after the rain comes.

hey everyone. i just won a dritz dressform on ebay.

who has one? are they good? i got it for about $60 off retail, so i'm pretty excited. i've heard mixed reviews, so i'm curious as to what you all think.

basically i'm most excited about not having to constantly make stuff in only a bra or whatever, since i have to keep trying what i'm making on (when working without a pattern). i like working with the window open and that doesn't work so well when you're topless! and also about being able to make things for other people (or to sell) without having to guesstimate so much. i'm a largish person, and if i were to make something to sell i'd rather have it be wearable by a majority of people, or at least by a majority of people that i personally know (easy to sucker them into buying your stuff! heh).

anyways, just to make this not text only, here are some scarves i've made recently with my mattel knit magic. they're all about 9 feet long or so. the pink is lionbrand microspun, the white is some mohair and the grey is an AMAZING angora/cashmere blend i got off ebay. mmmmmmmmmm.

making a boutineer seems so easy - and i'd much rather make it than spend tons of money on one - are they any catches to it? or are there any tips that i should know?

thanks!

Okay, I need to make a bottlecap necklace, but I have no idea how to do it, or if it's even worth doing... I also have no idea where to find all the bottlecaps I'll need! I don't drink anything with a bottlecap and neither does anyone else I know, so I'm at a loss short of buying antique ones off ebay (lmao, it just seems wrong). Does anyone have any knowledge about this? Thanks!
