colors are sticky
Aug. 28th, 2004 02:21 amI'm the owner of a cast-off laptop that I'm finally getting around to doing something with. I've never had one before, so if I sound like a dork, that's why.
It's boring on the outside, and it needs help. My current plan is to decorate the lid/top/flat part that does that lifting-up thing (is there a term for what that's called?) with stickers, and I thought I'd request some suggestions from all of the varied, awesome people I've seen on here. It's not a large surface (wee little item that it is), so smaller ones might be better.
So...are there any stickers you've seen around that you loved/thought were hilarious/just had to have? I have a few from bands that I've seen live [but alas, not from my very favorite band, since they don't do stickers and I am without sticker maker], and I'd love to add some creative, fun stuff to the mix.

Aug. 28th, 2004 02:35 amQuick question.
Do we have any Swedish people here that knows that the ingredients for the colourmix that's used in shirt stencils?
I've been looking all over the internet, and I just cannot find out what it's called in Swedish, and where you can find it.
I am going mad, I want to make shirts!

I made two button wreaths to hang on the entrance wall to my room. Both wreaths are the same size but I have one hanging on a longer ribbon but hung very high so that the wreaths are the same length down the wall and next to each other. The buttons are from my sister that passed away, mom, great-grandmom and grandmom. There are some that belong to other women that are very special to me.

I posted a few days ago about using temporary tattoos for art projects. So, I took the idea and ran with it. I made a fine trip to the dollar store and scooped up a bunch of cool tattoos in the kid section. This project was for my daughter's room and for my bathroom so it wasn't a bad selection of project oriented tattoos. So I'm long done with the project but, smart girl I am, I took pictures for ya'll while I was working on it. So here comes my tutorial. *= )

This is the shell wreath I made today for my mom. The shells are from a collection put together from her, my grandmom and myself from beach walks. It won't be hanging on this shelf. I just used that to take the photo with.
This goes along with the button wreaths I made and posted earlier.

After somewhat tackling the pile of yarn I own, I decided it was time to do something with the loads of fabric stacked around my sewing machine.
As a result, I have a turtle.
The legs are applied in a rather messy fashion because I had stuffed the shell and then realized that it wasn't going to fit on the sewing machine and I'm very impatient when it comes to hand sewing. It's all on the bottom, so you can't really tell.
It's a bit lopsided and uneven because I more or less just guessed where to sew. He resembles a turtle enough for me to be happy with it.
