a little while back, I showed my fiance a knitted 'willy warmer' as a joke
he thought it was funny and later I asked if I made one, would he wear it, also as a joke
he said maybe, but he'd rather wear a knitted thong lol
so! for christmas, as a joke, I wanna make him a thong
dose anyone know of a knitted or crochetted thong pattern that would fit a guy
he's a 34 inch waist
thanka in advance

right,
so im finally settlign into this student thing. I have spent the evening oggling heath legder (hummanah) and making "bad" fairy wings, as the girls and i are going to the halloween party at the student union as faires which reflect our character. my wings are jsut the usual coathangers and tights (pantyhoes! hehe!!) jobs but i REALLY want a wand, as my friend "fluffy fairy" has a very nice one, and well, im jelous. However i live a million miles from home in some back water hell hole, and im broke so i need to be able to make this wand out of the gussts from my tights (pantyhoes)and whatever you could find in your average supermarket, that is cheap and involves some badness. also any ideas on some way of carrying money (not in my bra, its fine for notes but i dont see many of those!) im feeling quite squiffey at the moment and so cannot think!

Please help! I have a new Dritz snap and eyelet setter. The thing doesn't set snaps well at all. It uses two rubber rings to hold the pieces, but they do more harm than good by causing the snap pieces to miss each other and get smushed.

Any hints at all would be much much MUCH appreciated. I am disappointed. I knew that Dritz isn't exactly super professional, but I figured it would at least WORK.

Hey, its the halloween time of year. I want to make a potions set for my "costume", and I need help with idea on what to put in the bottles. Firstly, you should probably know its a Harry potter themed costume, and I was thinking of labeling my bottles: pheonix tears, Dragon scales, Flesh eating slug repellent, Wolfsbane, polyjuice potion, and maybe some sort of love potion. I'm up for these, or any other ideas.

I have six bottles in total, and would like to find some things to put in them that looks cool, but that I don't have to run out and buy, because I'm one of the many here who are closing in on broke. So things that most people have in their house, or could get on a walk around the park, would be most helpful!

Thanks for the help crrrrafters!

PS, will post my pics of the Ice Mice bag when I get home.

Hi all,

I have started pysanky again to supplement my dance income. These are some traditional designs, henna inspired etched eggs, traditional gone egyptian and some tapestry and ancient persian imagery.

A grouping, and double etched Fatima's Hand.

I shall be taking some photos and placing them on my site for all my dancing friends :)

okay kids.
i need your help.
i'm dressing up like siouxsie sioux for haloween.
fine and dandy. i already have the hair, i can rock the make-up...i have the top half of my outfit planned...
but i've run into trouble plannig the bottom half.
all the fullbody shots of siouxsie i can find, she's wearing running shorts over pantyhose.
and well...i don't have running shorts, all the thrift stores around here have put all their shorts in the back somewhere...
so i need to make a pair.

i have a bunch of black coat lining that i plan on using.
does anyone have a pattern of any kind? or directions? even hot-pant directions would work. i'm getting kind of desperate.

OR does anyone remember what siouxsie wore as bottoms (something other than running shorts. its probably going to be snowing, and i really am not looking forward to standing outside a club, wearing practically nothing, in the snow.)

help.

I'm almost 24 years old (husband is 23) and we still go to my parent's house every year to carve pumpkins with them.

Each year my husband and I get in a umm "friendly" competition about who carves a better pumpkin. I've been looking for sites that have ideas about what sorts of faces to carve, but I can't find any!!!
We're not into that fancy takes-47-year-to-carve-something stuff.. just basic faces or shapes.
So if any of you know where I can get some ideas, it'll be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

While messing out some old boxes I found one filled with old mail, and lots of old stamps that I can use on projects. So now I am curious, what would be the easiest way to steam of stamps of envelopes? I tried it above a pot with boiling water but that isn't working well.. Any ideas?

edit: Heh, I would have never came up with the bowl of warm water! I did not know anything else then steaming stamps of. Thanks for the suggestions, I am going to give it a try right now:)

edit2: Owh, this works like a charm!! *excited*

i have a crafty dilemma...i made some kickass purple curtains for my bedroom, but i have a six inch gap above the curtain because the window is exceptionally tall (read "i can stand up in it and i'm five six") and somewhere between sewing and measuring i screwed up.

i am NOT redoing the curtains...i don't have enough material to add on to the bottom, and they look good as is.  what i was wondering was...can i do some sort of thing above the actual curtains?  is that what all these diy shows call a valance?  how hard is it/what's the easiest way to attach it to the wall.

any help would be appreciated.  crafty picture post this weekend when my friend with the digital camera comes over

Hey guys, I need some help.
I want to make socks, but not by knitting them.
I want to sew socks.
It's sounds kind of weird, but I think the seams may look cool.

I was just wondering if anyone's tried this, and if so how did you do it and where did you put the seams?

fuzzy hat and scarf )
i have a question and i'm not quite sure if it's appropriate for here but i have to try. i have an old lamp with no shade which is falling apart. i thought to myself that it would be  a cool idea to take the innards of the lamp out (it still works.. its just ugly haha) and make a lamp out of something else. could i do this? has anyone heard of doing this and if so do you know how i would even go about it? thanks! :)

For mother’s day I made my mom a bunch of beach themed candles and soaps and put them all in a sand bucket. For my grandmother I made a set of garden themed candles. Well I finally got my film developed so here are a couple pictures of them… )

does anybody have any creative little ideas for a pinata halloween costume?
this costume will probably involve two people, boxes, and all kinds of tissue paper, ribbons, shreds of stuff, candy, etc... but can anyone think of any little creative ideas to make it extra cool? it is for a contest.

thanks!

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, since there's a rule about no gift-asking questions but...

I was trying to come up with a very cheap, yet fun Christmas gift idea so I can do a bunch of the same thing to give out to friends. I thought of getting a bunch of those little Chinese take-out boxes from The Container Store and painting a Chinese symbol on the side (a word I think represents them...). Inside the boxes I'll put 5 fortune cookies, with custom (albeit cheesy) fortunes. My question is, do any of you have any ideas of something else to put in the boxes with the cookies? I feel like the cookies aren't enough... or do you think that would suffice?

Thanks.

Okay, so I'm getting into knitting (or I want to). So I bought one of those book kits. It gives you a book to learn and all the tools and I bought some yarn, but it fails to tell me how to 'cast' i think it's called. It says to make some kind of loop and stuff and I'm CONFUSED!

Help?

hi ladies!
i'm going to france this year with the french club, and i need to make money for it. i've been making marble magnets and selling them for $1. so far, i've made over $30! i know i can make more money if i open it up to my livejournal friends, but how would i manage to send those through the mail? the marbles and magnets can both chip, and the magnets could shatter as well, because they are ceramic.

help!

I've been working on some pieces to submit to my local guild as I'm desperate to join it. Behind the cut is a photo of an autumn girl piece I've made to be the centre piece of a double bed art quilt. I'm a little worried it's a bit busy. Sometimes I kinda go mad and do too much to a piece, but I guess it's too late to change it now anyway.

i've posted stuff here but it never generated any comments. guess it wasn't real spectacular.

anyways for halloween i made my neice's costume. i'm not a pro sewer or anything buti 'm attempting to get better. practice makes perfect eH?

she's going as sleeping beauty. she only has to wear it on friday at school and then for halloween. and she'll probably randomly put it on to twirl in the livingroom every once in awhile. she's 4 and she wasn't accepted into preschool so she goes to daycare like twice a week to play with kids so it'll be exciting for her to be at her first school halloween party.

on with the pictures:

i can't iron so it's a little wrinkly right now )
