Well I have no idea if you would classify Mandala Coloring as crafting, but I have recently caught the bug.

I had a Batman party before catching the midnight show. So of course..

ps. If you're wondering, the movie was fantastic. :>

I made some armsocks for a friend of mine the other day, and in way of payment she let me keep the feet

here's what I did with them )

Hi, first time posting with my first bead project.
My step-MIL's birthday is coming up and I wanted to make her something nice.
She sails and loves the water hence the theme.
I got ideas from this local artist Mashu Mashu

Here are the two crowns I made for the crown swap. The beaded one I already posted but I got some great detail shots of it so I put them in here again.
Don't look under here if you are in the crown swap )
These are mailing out today to their new owners.

I found a listing for the Bead Merchantile Shows! I went to a bead expo last month and had a ton of fun + found some AMAZING deals! I suggest you go here and see when they're coming to your town!

on a sidenote, anyone from ft. lauderdale going to the beads show this month? i'll be hitting that up with my mom. ha.

It's not often that I get to post here, but I have been mega crafty for the past 2 days.
I'm going to be marching in the NYC Dyke March and their website says...

Bring signs, banners, drums, giant puppets, flags, hula hoops, or just be there!

So of course I decide for the first time in my life to make a puppet.
It was not an easy undertaking....
paper mache
fake fur
glitter
glue gun
wooden pole
styrofaom
an old tube top
and you have a...

Big Vagina Puppet... that will hold candy inside )

If you would get offended by said vagina don't look behind the cut.

i got this sewing machine in the mail today: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8197130286&fromMakeTrack=true . i plugged it in, read the manual and pushed the little pedal and the needle did not move. i tried threading a bobbin and that worked. how come the needle doesn't move? it doesn't sound like anything is jammed.

---edit---

you know you're a newbie when... you don't push in the hand wheel that makes the needle move. duh lauren! :-p

I know there's a way to turn stringey things you sew inside out... outside in so the rough edges are inside...

I think you use a safety pin...

it is soooo not working for me... any ideas?

thaaaank you :)

here's another toy that i made from the book knit a square and make a toy:

i really like the way he turned out.  i made him a lot smaller than the book showed (he is leaning up against my iron) because i think smaller=cuter.

Wow. I just found this site and learned they have free shipping, no minimum purchase.

How freaking sweet is that?

I'm in the market to make one of those lovely lovely bracelets I've been seeing posted here (don't remember usernames...tickledpink(?) possibly) and was looking for jump rings in bulk (for future projects too).
Here's a pic )
I am in love with this style...the really cluttery, colorful charm bracelet of sorts. I don't intend to copy this bracelet exactly (yeah right, my beading skills are so not at that level) just the style.

I just wanted to share that little tidbit of beading shipping love with you all. I'm done.

:)

My first felt creations! One is just a "semi" monster, who looked better on paper. I attempted to make a mohawk, but that's as close as I could figure out how to do it. He has kind of a ninja headband thing to cover up the glue marks haha.

The snowman is for my mom who's in the hospital. I didin't think about adding beads to it until I sewed it together, or else he would of had a black beaded mouth with black beaded eyes. Oh well, at least I know for next time!

The fabric in the background is some I just bought at Joannes, and I will be making a comforter with!

EDIT: The red dots on the snowman are beads. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to jazz up the snowman? He seems a little plain to me.

First plushies. rawr. )

I have a question for you ladies (or gents) that sell their crafts, I make & sell purses & just realized that I don't have tags on my bags. I know it's not necessary but I think it would be a nice touch. What do you use to make tags for things you sell, fabric tags I mean, like the kind you find on the neck of a tshirt. I was thinking ribbon & maybe stenciling but it seems like it would be difficult with such a small area to stencil on. HELLLLP.

& just so this isn't boring here are some purses I've made... )

I posted recently about my plastic beads/oven dilemma. Well, I decided to try 15 min on 275 and no harm done! :D

Here they are with some other items: )

after seeing so many of these i thought i'd go ahead and give it a go.
They're really simple to make and yet look a lot more detailed than they are.
Anyway i made three.
Let me know what you think.
