These little ghouls and gals are a medical fetishist dream! They are "Bad Medicine Bunny Hoodoos." They are made of thick vinyl and all come with corresponding medical crosses!

These cute boys & girls are ready for valentines day. (esp if you have a bad one *wink*)

So I have these canvas shoes that i bought last night. But they're white. I don't do white shoes. So I want to dye parts of them. Could I just use watered down fabric or acrylic paint? I was thinking Rit dye wouldnt stay dark enough (i want part of them black). I might have some black Rit dye in my house but if I dont, i REALLY dont feel like running to the store so I was wondering if paint will be OK.

(X-posted to [livejournal.com profile] craftgrrl and [livejournal.com profile] craftgrrl_uk)

Here's something I made recently.

I picked up this china figurine in a charity shop for 99p.
She was all brown and unloved, brown dress, brown hat, brown parasol, brown makeup, brown gloves.
But I thought the shape was pretty so I took her home and gave her a goth make over.

So this is how she looks now...

Unfortunately I didn't think to take a before picture for comparison.

Finally posting some pictures. A scarf I did a while ago (and I said I would post a long time ago, but never did!) and some jewelry =) Next projects: Finish my Lion Suade scarf and my Mark Scarf (which I started this morning, boy is purling tedious!)

and since this isn't just all text... My first ever scarf and shiny things (lots of pictures) )

Hi. I put a snap on a little bag I made (felted knit purse) and now I've changed my mind about it. I can't figure out for the life of me how to get it off though. Someone out there has to know this...please help! Thanks in advance...

this bag took me longer than i had planned, but it's ok because it turned out better than i could have ever hoped. first, it's not a tote bag. second, i drew out the pattern for it and everything. third, it's not a tote bag. :D

plus some )

now i'm really excited to make more bags like this one. i just hope that the pattern will work more than once! :D

I bought a kickass purse at the thrift store today - it's made of straw and has orange... vinyl trim? Basically, a firm, smooth, plastic-y type material. It's a very very very bright orange, and I would much rather it was more subdued - like a green or brown. But because it's so smooth, I'm not sure if I can paint it. I even thought about taking off the trim and trying to make my own and resew it, but I love the purse so I'm scared that would just ruin it.

Is there a type of paint I can use to paint it, and then maybe add a sealer? I can probably sand the orange bits if that would help the paint stick, but I'm worried how the resulting texture and finish would look. I could always add fabric over the orange bits or even colored duct tape (can you tell I dislike the color) but I don't want to make the trim and handle too thick. I would rather have the purse orange than ruin it, so I'm afraid of just experimenting. Suggestions?

ive checked the memories but dont find the answer im looking for.
For the hello kitty or similar japanese button makers they have a safety pin in a white plastic thingy on the back of the button.
1. is this sturdy? does it break?
2. from the pictures ive seen on ebay, it looks like the pins stick out from the button. Can you see the safety pin when its on something from underneath the button??

THANKS! :D

Hello knitters, any of you have the Boye NeedleMaster set? Is it worthwhile? I saw one in Michael's and it was 60-someodd dollars, which would be a big purchase for me right now! But if it's worth it to get this, then I might just cave.

FYI, in case you don't feel like clicking on the link, this is a kit where you can attach any size needles (from 2 to 15, anyway) to a cable to make circulars, and the cables in the kit come in 12, 14, 16, and 21. See, I uh...have never actually used a circular needle before. This _seems_ convenient to me, but what do I know? So I want opinions before I shell out 10 hours' worth of paycheck. ^_^

Thank you all!

Has anyone had any experience polishing/finishing brass? (I don't mean removing tarnish.) I have a large brass bowl that has a dark antique finish. The finish itself looked terrible, so I am using steel wool to take it off. It's working quite well, however, it's leaving the brass a bit scratched-looking, and I'm already using a very fine wool. Is there any way to make it all shiny and really smooth without giving it another finish?

I want to make a patch of a drawing I made on illustrator. Does anyone know a website where I can get cutom embroidered patches without a minimum? Everywhere that I have found has a minimum of 50 or 100.
