Everyone's been posting theirs lately, so I figured I'd join in. I made this on Saturday.

This was the best tutorial ever.

Hi everyone, this is my first time posting. Sorry for the text only, but I was wondering if anyone knows about using mirror tiles and pieces of mirrors in mosaics. I would really like to cover the ceiling in my bedroom with a mirror mosaic, but I don't know what adhesive would be best for holding the tiles, or even if it will work. I'm sorry if this is the wrong community to post this in, I just thought you all might know. Thank you!

This is the start of my first decorated bag. So at first I wanted to try stenciling tote bags, but I decided to paint it freehand, and used my stencil design as refernce, and just go with it.. I used acrylic, and its kinda rough looking, but I figured thats fine because it matches the look. I'm going to paint something simplier on the other side with some text. And I'm going to cover the handle completely in gold sequins, and add a few single ones on the bag.

I could use some advice/criticism/comments/anything. Thx =]

Hello everyone! I've got a question about purses: I have a store-bought clear vinyl purse, and I *love* it, except for the fact that it is clear. So, I'm looking to go about lining it. Any suggestions on how I could get fabric to stay on vinyl and still look good from both sides? I've already ruled out most glues - I was going to resort to staples until I realized I should ask here. Thanx!

Hahah so I got this idea after viewing a fellow-crafter's crocheting squid they made. So I decided to make my own squid-gnome. When my friend saw this his exact words were (after a few seconds of just staring),"That just shouldn't be." lol Behold it's weirdness!! It's made of a variety of fabrics (furry stuff, felt, flannel) and it's mostly hand-sewn and hand-embroidered.

Hola craftgrrls and boys! I was just wondering (and I do feel quite silly for not knowing) what the heck sewing patterns actually are. How do you work with them, what do they show...you know, things like that. Anyone care to give me the 411 on those things? Please and thank you : d

sorry for text only : /

I was sending out orders the other day & noticed I was running out of promo packs! I will also be participating in some craft soon and would like to have some to give out there as well. The promo packs I put together are just little baggies stuffed with 5 - 7 business cards, stickers, buttons or postcards from other indie businesses. I think it's nice to send these out with orders & help support othre small businesses.

Would anyone like to swap promo material with me since I'm running out? You can send up to fifty small promo items (like any of the things listed above) or get creative!

If you're interested, please email me with your address at pinklittlebird[at]gmail[dot]com or leave a comment.

Thanks!
Lucy

I've been sewing up a storm lately! I've made 2 aprons in two weeks. Finally finding a use for some adorable Hello Kitty fabric I picked up a year or two ago. The blue one of them is cute and servicable and taught me some good lessons about how to put on piping, and the pink one is just ridiculously frilly-- but they're both full of Sanrio goodness, and so they will soon be hanging up in my kitchen for decoration when they're not in use :)

Hello Aprons! )

Welp...

So a while ago I used some of the last of my autumny material to make a clutch bag

I think these are the last of these kind of clutch bags I'm gonna make for a while, I'm working on (and by working on, I really mean pinning small bits of material together and twisting them every which way to try and make it bag shaped) some different styles at the moment.

So when you get flowers “tipped” at a florist what do they use? Would spray paint work without making the flowers die? See I’m making my own arrangement for prom and I was wanting to tip my white roses in gold, and I was wondering if gold spray paint would work, I know I would just need to just LIGHTLY do the tips if I did it. Thanks.

So here's the deal. I have two zip up style jackets to make teddy bears out of. One bear from each jacket. The pattern I was givin to make the bears will make an 18" bear, using only 4 cuts of fabric. It's just not possible for me to get that amount of fabric from a jacket. What's the best way to shrink a pattern? I've never used one before so this is all completly new to me & to make matters worse the jackets are from my moms friends dead mother. So they're very special to her. & I have till Sunday to make them. Yikes! So HELP PLEASEEEEE!!
