Mushrooms!

In honor of camping with Gnome Camp for Burningman, I have crocheted some mushrooms.

One is just a little stuffed mushroom, the other has a not-so-secret stash compartment.

I used the pattern from crochetme.com.

Gotta add some buttons to close the top and for decoration,
but I hate sewing so it might take me a while.

I'm not so happy with the way the opening-top came out -- it doesn't seem to seal right, it's very obviously a top-part that comes up. Don't like the shape it makes when closed.
I think it might work better if I use a bigger hook next time (which I did for the larger mushroom) so we'll see.

Long-time lurker, first time poster, blah blah blah... but anyway! I just completed my first EVER sewing project! I made a skirt! It's nothing fancy and definitely NOT perfect, but I'm still ridiculously proud of it. Basically it's just a wrap-around skirt, with two panels on the front that I doubled over and sewed (I don't know if that makes sense). It closes with a button on the outside and some velcro on the inside. I didn't use a pattern, I just kind of made it up as I went along. Hoorays!

okay , i know you guys probably have really good ideas si ,i have some record sleeves, i'm using the records for purses but i can't think of anything for the covers they come in.
if you guys have any ideas i would very much appricate it,thank you.
I know its in the faq section but all it really says is to make clocks and boxes out of them but i'm looking for something a little more original and crafty.

also i was wondering how to make shrug out of a t shirt with using little sewing as possible, any help would be greatly appriciated.

ps thanks for the ideas

Tried my hand at making record bowls last week, and, if I do say so myself, I think they came out pretty good for a first try. I made them star-shaped.

This is the first time I have ever sewed an article of clothing without a pattern. I decided to make my daughter a sun dress based off of these instructions: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=49544.0

I've never made anything like this without a pattern before. I would say I am a strict pattern girl -but now I am thinking I am able to do more. I have a few other ideas for dresses for her in my mind.

This is what I ended up with:

Okay....Ideas?

I bought a M*A*S*H "RCA SelectaVision VideoDisc" and it came in a super hard case. I was hoping that the disc inside would have paper with "MASH" written on it (like a record)...but it didn't. So, now all I have is a cool case. It's super hard plastic...and about the size of a record cover. ANYTHING would be helpful.

Thx <3 I'll post pics when I find out what to do with it!

hello,

rather new to this community...I just found a beige leather purse at goodwill today and I'd like to write some lines from a poem on it to jazz it up. I don't know how to go about writing on leather however. Does a plain old sharpie work, or is there a specific kind of pen for writing on leather? Any help would be appreciated, thanks :)

My mum and I finally got ourselves a nice new cutlery set... And what better way is there to break it in than some crafy cutting?

I present to you my first apple bird. (Yeah, I know... I had never made one before this. And I'm even in a catering class!)

Hey, everybody! I am finishing up stuff for a swap and I'd like some opinions on one of the items. For this swap I made a quilt block and some soap and bath bombs scented with nag champa. I love the way the packaging for the bath stuff looks so I put a picture of it along with a picture of the quilt block, which is what I'd like your opinions on. Check it out. )

P.S. If you are Kristen81 from craftster.org, don't look under the cut if you'd rather be surprised.

My first real project on my sewing machine.
I did my camera cozy, but that was like a 5 minute project.

I haven't posted in here in a while, but I've been lurking. I've got an awesomely awesome* project I'd like to share with you all! It may not be as awesome as most stuff here, but I'm proud of it.

Who doesn't love pictures~? )

*Okay, it's not really awesome. But it killed time and fed my duct tape obsession... plus it's useful. :D
