I've been very crafty lately due to a new etsy shop and here are my latest creations:

My four year anniversary with my boyfriend is coming up (July 4) so this is one of the gifts I made for him. I'm trying to make a lot of special things, especially because I have a feeling he's going to propose (he's been hinting at it since last Christmas... so if not that day, then probably soon) and that will way overshadow all my presents for him haha. Anyway I had this notebook that wasn't being used so I made a sort of cut-out book from it, with sheet music from "our song" and some dried rose petals from roses he's given me.

For months I've been planning on a very streamlined fashion collection that would involve three very basic, but still very specific colors, and I would need cottons, polyesters, and knits of these colors. Searching online, I have had no luck finding a wholesale fabric website for individuals without certified businesses or one that offers a range of basics.

Has anybody else found a good source, whether online or by catalogue, that someone can buy specific colors in bulk or at wholesale prices? Maybe even a cheap source for apparel fabrics. I would need several bolts of each color, so buying retail bolts will be unnecessarily expensive. This question would especially pertain to fashion designers or something along the likes. Any suggestions for accessing wholesale catalogues would be cool too.

Thank you!

This is Diggity, as in "Hot Diggity Dog." He's crochet and he's what's for dinner.

I thought I'd post some of my recent jewelry here...

Starting with this:

Hand-painted (not by me!) ceramic center bead...

And continuing with these (9 more pics but they're all pretty small)... )

This is by far my most favorite book that I have made. Someone asked before if I altered my books. I hand make the whole book from prepping the paper to sewing it all together and making the covers :)

I'm hearing a lot of bad things about [livejournal.com profile] craftpromo. The things she's doing sound really sketchy!

her myspace: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=87221220
her website: http://craftpromo.net/

I'm going to paste what my friend (I'm not naming anyone b/c I don't want to start some internet drama) wrote, because it explains a lot about the girl behind "Craft Promo."

I'm sorry if this is off-topic. I thought this would be a good place to post about it because you all are crafty people, and you should know if someone is doing something fishy. That's just what I think. If this post is a bother to the community, please delete it!

OK, so I looked in the memories, perhaps I didn't look hard enough.. But I still remain in search for a free online pattern (even better would be one I could print off to scale) of how to make a tie. The long ones, not a bow-tie.

My prom is Thursday, and I am wearing a zebra print dress and my date agreed to wear a contrasting zebra print tie (surprising as I thought he'd consider it a fashion faux-pas.. hes a bit of a diva)

Thank you!

Ok I need some advise please.
I had this old box laying around that I got from hobby lobby a while back.I wanted to do something with it.So today while I was at hobby lobby(I love that place)I bought some Brush Pens,I had a 40% off coupon or I wouldnt have gotten them.(I thought I would give them a shot since I had said coupon)
Well I traced a butterfly and a faerie on the top of the box and then colored it in with the Brush Pens.I had never used them before so I was in shock to discover that they ran some. Not to bad but you can see it alittle. Also the ink didnt take as well on some spots of the wood.
So my question is does it look to bad to you with some running?
I do plan on painting the rest of the box with paint,so It will cover it up some.
Also do you think the,i dont know how to explaine it well, stripes in the color look ok?

I dont want this box to be a waste so thats why im asking you great people! Please give me all the advise you can!

NOTE to self!Dont ever buy these brushes again! lol x.x

it's not quite a chicken but looks like a duck, therefore...

anyway. New wallet!
I'm still trying to get the wallet technique down...it's harder than I thought it would be (or maybe I'm just doing it the hard way).
I had fun with this one, though, and I like how it came out, imperfections and all!

I'd like to set up a semi-automated mailing list subscription thingy (opt-in with email confirmation), and I was wondering what you like to use! I've seen some PHP forms I liked, while signing up for the HHG, and might go with that... I can install things on my server, and I want something where I can customize the look myself (I know html so that's not a problem).

Then I just need to think of something to write about. :)

Pricing?

I'm Lisa, i'm 14, and i'm planning on selling some of my bags at a car wash next Saturday --- and about 99.99999999% of the profit goes to a mission team going to the Dominican Republic. (.000000001% will be kept for fabric/other material costs.)

Q: How much would you pay for
THESE? (separately, of course!) )

my first crocheted capelet.

what do you think?
[identity profile] agloriousday.livejournal.com
1. BEfore I buy a whole crapload, I was wondering how well these magnetic clasps work:

Has anyone had much experience?

2. Also, what's a good paint for fimo, and what's a good, long-lasting glossy polish that I can use over it? Remember the modeling clay heart that I made? My boyfriend saw it the other day and said that it looks really dull now. :( !!

3. I work in a laboratory where we go through a bunch of these things every day.

I thought that they look cool, and I really don't want to be throwing hundreds of them out. What can I make out of them?
More pictures and thoughts )

AND recently I purchased the cutest, most useful, most wonderful mp3 player in the world, and decided that it needed a cozy (I cursed those things for years, and now I've been sucked in!).

My first cozy was made of crochetted hemp and beads )
When that got old, I decided to make a softer, tighter one )

My first post after some lurking here- lots of pictures of bags and cozy and skirt and fun things.

I was inspired by the nintendo appliques posted here earlier and the results were just peachy )

I've got so many scraps of fabrics lying around and I don't want to throw them out. They're the perfect size to make small square shaped coasters from but I was wondering how feasible it really is to make coasters from fabric. What would I back them up with? Would they get ruined easily? Do any of you make coasters? Any advice would be helpful :)

What is the best way to attach tin can trails and 'just married' signs to a car?

Also: how does one make/where does one buy those tacky puffballs that people stick to wedding cars?
[identity profile] the-talisa.livejournal.com
yay i made some rings! they're laser cut out of plastic and cost about 5 cents to make :)

i've got a million of these in white, red, black and clear. if i were to sell these, would you buy them? also, where is the best place to sell stuff? online or in person? (just asking, not selling here! :D)

i know this is a hard topic to help me out on, but, its worth a shot =)

okay, so my friend is having some sort of family reunion and needs to buy new fancy/dressy clothes. According to her religion she has to wear long pants, skirts up to her ankle, and long sleeve shirts, (or shortsleeve with a longsleeve underneath). So i thought i could her out with umm "customizing" some of her old clothes, since im not to bad with a sewing machine. Like make her ripped jeans a little more dressy and her shirts fancier. Do you guys have any ideas or tutorials of making old clothing prettyfuls!? or some examples.
