I'm making some "In a box gifts" . I want to make one Peter Pan, One Great Mouse Detective and one Lion King. What different things can I use for boxes and what fun stuff can I put in there?

For the Peter Pan one I have
-A coonskin cap
- A sling shot
-a thimble

Lion King
-Plastic bugs

The other's I don't really know. Any ideas?

Also,  I'm moving into an apartment on the 19th and I want to have a peter pan themed room. Any Ideas? I can't paint my walls but other than that I pretty much have free reign.

I checked the memories and searched the site about this but couldn't find anything.
I have an old un-working gameboy that I want to do something crafty with. Any ideas?

So while the boyfriend was at work yesterday, I decided I need to keep myself busy. So from 5:00pm to 2:00am, I sewed like a madwoman! I was only going to make one little purse for my little sister, but it turned out good, so I decided to make another, from a tutorial I found on craftster, and then that turned out even better, so I tried my luck and made one last bag! I love them ALL!!

I also put up a necklace me and my mother made, and a pair of earrings I made. They are simple, but I love the effect the have!

I posted here a week or two back about a Bowser quilt I wanted to make my boyfriend. I ended up going with the much-simpler red toadstool design, and finished piecing it together last night (I dragged out the process since I've been sewing clothes as well):

Yesterday I taught myself a new crochet stitch and started a new project...slippers. I used to have a few pairs I bought, but inevitably lost three of the four and am tired of going maryjane-slipperless!

Where do you buy your beads?  I am trying to get some unique beads, any suggestions would be helpful, and any sellers on Ebay even would be great, thanks in advance!

These did look really awesome.. until I glued the magnets to the back and black stuff seeped through the paper to make them look dirty. :/ I guess there's a reason everyone uses the hard round magnets instead of the floppy cut-able magnet sheet like I did.

Oh well. They are still my first marble magnets, so I'm proud! And I know I'm the last person on the planet to make them, but I'd been wanting to make some for like, the past 5 years or so, and when I found a huge bag of these craft marbles at the dollar store, I knew I had my chance.

I need your help!

I'm currently working on a mixed media painting for an upcoming gallery show. The painting will be done completely in the color red.

What I need are various ideas for textures. It must be able to be painted (or already be red). So far I've been using sand and das (which is an air dry clay). I want textures that are really noticeable, like the color.

I also need ideas for a really good, high gloss varnish.

all ideas are welcome, ready set go!

I'm trying to re-teach myself how to crochet (it's been many years, and I wasn't that good at it even then, though I did know the basics).

Anyway, I did my starter chain, but now I can't figure out what to do from here!! The closest thing I've been able to find to explain it was this page. Does anyone know of a website that might have an even more simplistic explanation for someone who just isn't getting it??? A free video somewhere would be super cool.

Thanks for any ideas!!

(oh yeah, crossposted to try to get the most help I can, sorry if this shows up more than once on anyone's friends page).

I love moose.  No, I take that back, I am obessed with moose.  The people in my life gladly feed my addiction- not like I can't do it on my own, lol.  But I was at JoAnn fabrics a few months a go getting fabric for my draping class and I discovered moose fabric.  Not fabric with the occational moose, but I'm talking about nothing BUT moose.  It was hella expensive for me to buy ($9/yd is tough on a college budget!), so I bought 3/4 yard and its been sitting in my fabric tote for all this time.  But tonight I got the urge to sew.

I've never liked purses, but now I find I need something to carry my crap.  My mom got me a ceramic moose button and I went from there.  I would like to point out I have NEVER made a purse before, so don't mind me as I ramble on with delight. :-)

[livejournal.com profile] muffetly is always telling me just how fab you lot are, so I figured why not join too...

so I did!

I'm what you call a serial crafter so there's not a lot I've not tried - at the moment I'm doing a LOT of polymerclay and jewellery (just finished tiara's and necklaces and a wedding cake for a friend of mine).

I adore parchment craft and I'm a Pergamano© registered tutor and have a specific UK LJ for Pergamano - which is a bit slow, but then again I've not really promoted it - will post some pics of my creations here - it's truly a fabulous craft with mega WOW factor. You start with a piece of parchment (like heavy tracing paper) and you end up with something that looks like lace...

Anyway - here are some of my favourite 'creatures' and some other creations...

I made myself a new wallet just because I wanted to try out a new design I drew up, I know it looks like other designs out there but I wanted to make mine from scratch, with the pockets and a way to keep money secure in it.

I put the Clandestine Clothing logo on it because well one I wanted to, and two I like to keep myself sharp with cutting things with a lot of detail.

Here are the pictures.

Two more this way... )
