so this weekend, BOTH of my sewing machines decided to die on me. I was horribly upset, because i just set up my brother's old room as my sewing haven. i was at a loss, and was just sitting around looking at all of my glorious fabrics waiting to be made into something amazing. then i remembered, 'oh yeah. i can hand sew!' so i got out my needles and thread, and went to work.

BAHBUHDUHBAHHH! )

Amigurumi Bunny in a Strawberry

Inspired by a Cram Cream pouch I own, of a bunny in a strawberry suit (view pouch print here), I crocheted my own bunny in a strawberry. I had a lot of fun making this, and am thinking of making more animals in fruits. (^o^) This is project #23 of 50 crafty projects in 2007.

I made this pin for my friend. It's an old old joke from middle school. I'm not even sure how we started it, but we there was always a penguin around stealing our cans of soda. It liked Mountain Dew, particularly if it belonged to Kristen (whom the pin was meant for).

And because I already resized this picture....
Can you spot the odd ball in this pic?

Haven't posted in ever, but thought I'd share some of the pottery I've painted lately!

Tuscan cheese plate, Decemberists mug/plate set, and an unfired Day of the Dead skull. Not really dial-up friendly )

Today I've made this notebook/journal:

Arte Notebook

This time I've cut the cardstock and sheets myself and sewed them all together, then decorating the cover with a plastic illustration from one of my children's books :-) I want to start making my first Arte series of notebooks this summer!

Hello fellow crafters,

Forgive the text only post, but I am desperate. I somehow signed myself up to be a jewelry specialist at a summer camp for 3-10 year olds. I have to come up with 40 jewelry-making activities per age group over the course of the program. I've got a lot of activities, but nowhere near enough to fill the summer.

If you worked at a camp, or remember jewelry projects from your own camp days, or just know how to make cool jewelry that 3-10 year olds can make, PLEASE point me in the right direction.

I already have stuff like gimp, lanyards, hemp, macaroni jewelry, friendship bracelets, shrinky dinks, beadies, etc. I am trying to branch out and get creative.

Seriously, I'll take anything.

THANK YOU in advance.

My brother is going to be visiting Japan with a friend of his in July and I want him to get me some of those darling charms plastic charms (2D laser cut and traditional 3D charms, I'm not discriminating) that seem to be exclusive to your country. Where can I tell him to go to pick me up some? He's probably going to spend a few days in Tokyo and the rest of the trip is up in the air at this point, so if I could just get the names and addresses of the best places to go I will send that along to him and he can figure out if he can get to them or not.

Also, he's not an artsy guy so if there's a place where he can just buy a giant bag of a bunch of different kinds of charms and not have to pick them out individually (really, he'd be clueless... maybe the salespeople can just put what's most popular in a bag and take his money, that would work for me) I'm sure he'd appreciate that. Thanks for any help you can give me!

ETA: Examples of what I'm talking about (kinda). [1] [2]

I've been searching high and low as to where to find somewhere that will print custom stickers. What I've found in most cases, is a minimum order of over $100 for wayyyy more stickers that I need. So. I just need a few stickers (5 of one kind at the most) using a couple different images (color). These will be for personal use, and I'm not looking to pay alot of out of pocket money for something so simple. Any recommendations? Or is there anyone here with a sticker machine that would be willing to help me out (we can discuss details)?

And also looking for fabric pens. I've picked up a few at the craft store, but they don't seem to work so great. I'm looking for something that will show up nicely on black or color canvas, such as a backpack? I want something really pigmented, but in pen form like the fabric pens. recommendations?

Thank you soooo much, in advance :)

here are some pics of my collar.  i don't know if it is vinyl or patent (hopefully vinyl since i am a veg), but its gets sticky when i wear it all day.  it doesn't slip smoothly around my throat.  so how could i attach fabric to the inside to make it more comfy for daily wear?
