Dress = Success! )

i'm quite happy with how the smocking turned out except for a bit of messy threads inside due to the thread tensions. Its not hard to do. Just frustrating to manually roll up elastic thread along the bobbin. Might do it again sometime. I like this pattern a lot cos its really easy and not much cutting is involved, all comes together nicely through shirring.

And i like the cheery and refreshing spearmint colour used. Very summer-ish. And very versatile. Yay for dress #1 :D

What do you all think? (:

I've been wanting to get a button maker for SO long, but wasn't sure if I should because nice ones cost so much. I finally gave in to my desire and bought a Tecre 1" press from ButtonSafari on eBay. It was brand new, with parts for 1,000 buttons, a flat back button adapter (for magnets, etc.), the warranty, and with shipping it only turned out to be about $226.

I am SO happy that I bought it! I bought/paid for it on a Monday, and got it on that Wednesday. I've gone a little crazy making buttons, since it's so easy with the machine. I am a little frustrated that the circle cutters/punches cost so much, they would be really handy, but I can't see myself shelling out $80-$150 to cut freaking circles out. I've just been using good ol scissors so far.

Also, I'm working on about a thousand other projects at the same time. I wish I could quit work and just craft all day :)

Ok, I’ve gone through the memories and used the LJ search to no avail. My friends and I were talking last night and I mentioned the plushie Vagina that someone had made and they REALLY want to see it. I could SWEAR that it was posted here to this comm when I saw it but I can’t fin it. Can anyone help by directing me to the post? Also directing me to any other vagina crafts, as I know I’ve seen other, would rock to!

Thanks in advance!

I made this shirt to give to Calvin Johnson at his concert.

I did some dying and an ink jet transfer. I also put my label in the back of it but I lost the picture somewhere.

Hi! I am new to the community and I'm a girl who LOVES purses. But, I can't stand how expensive they can be (I just bought an adorable hand-made one at this cute shop for $40) so I wanted to sew a few, but I have no idea where to start. Do any of you have any good patterns or other suggestions?

Okay, I know it isn't Easter or even close, but I had to share this link I found.

I was just going through my craft supplies for an upcoming yard sale, and I came across a bag of about 20 silk ties I had collected at other yard sales a long time ago. I was about to bag them up for the sale when I decided to Google crafts with silk ties, just in case I really DIDN'T want to throw them out (obviously I'm having a hard time cutting ties with my stuff. HAR. Puns! Yay!)

So I found this link (with a video!) on Martha's website about transferring the dyes and patterns from the ties to EASTER EGGS! It looks so easy, and the results are stunning. I can't wait to try this technique - I may not be able to wait until Easter!

Hi, I would love to make a t-shirt quilt/blanket for my boyfriend, but I have no idea how. You see he has A LOT of old t-shirts that don't fit him anymore (which he is really upset about) and he would be really sad to lose them. So I thought I would cheer him up by putting my crafty skills to work.

I remember seeing a tutorial somewhere about a t-shirt quilt someone made and thought that was an awesome idea. But I can't find it. And there are so many tutorials around, I don't know where to look.

So I would be really thankful if someone could point me in the right direction.

Thanks

I'd like to make a Harry Potter shirt for the release (to wear at home, not to a release) and I love this shirt and the way it fits. The only problem is the logo.

A few weeks ago, I stumbled across a phenomenal pattern for a knit scarf. I believe it was on a personal blog. I'm dying to make it, but I can't find it! I'm hoping that my vague description will trigger something in someone's memory. Here's what I remember:

- scarf pattern (knit)
- intricate colourwork
- chart provided for colourwork (2 charts to be alternated for length of scarf)
- only two colours used: 1 solid, 1 varigated
- the person who posted it, talked about it being needlessly confusing (my words, not theirs)

Hopefully this triggers something!
