I hope this is alright to post, if not ... I guess I'll find out!

Does anyone have any patterns for a dress like this:

I'd like to make one for some special occasions that are coming up, but I've looked every where I could think of and couldn't find anything like, :/. I figured it would be quite an easy pattern to find, too. If we had a Forever 21 near me, I would just go out and buy it, but it most likely wouldn't fit me and really, for what I'd like to wear it to, that pattern wouldn't be such a nice choice, haha.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I have absolutely forgotten.
I and the daughter have named rabbit Lovelace. A rare name!

the gift i ordered for my boyfriend's 26th birthday – a new bike – came yesterday, almost a month early. so rather than let it sit around and collect dust for a month, i decided to give it to him early, since the weather has been so beautiful for biking.

then i realized i didn't even have a card yet.

so i ran out on my lunch break and bought the biggest red bow i could find, and some paper and sparkly pens from the art supply store to make a card. printed up some images and put the card together covertly in my office when no one was looking...

the base is a metallic card stock, and the red is a beautiful hand-dyed Tibetan paper. I used an image of the bike path he takes to work everyday, small images of each of us, and the wonderful pic of a monkey on a bike (he loves the monkeys). the skull design was borrowed from another craftgrrl (cause i love it so much, hope you don't mind). tedious though it be, i love cutting letters out of the newspaper ^_^.
The envelope is vellum, with more of the TIbetan paper and an image of this cool art nouveau bike shop poster i found online. its all much more sparkly in person.

He was pretty excitied =D
(and best of all, because i was so early, he hadn't a clue what was coming!)

I've always loved [livejournal.com profile] stolenmilkcrate's posts of her chibis, and on a whim the other day I picked up some Sculpey that was on sale. I played around with it over the weekend and attempted to remember [livejournal.com profile] stolenmilkcrate's tutorial as I tried to make a wee 'Norbert' (Norwegian Ridgeback). Now that I've looked up the tutorial, I want to go back and try again!

This is what I came up with )

has anyone here worked with hemp fabric before? I just got commissioned to make a wedding dress for someone, and she wants it out of hemp and I've never even seen it in real life, let alone tried draping with it!! HELP!!!!

I found these gorgeous rose stencils at a thrift store and knew I had to have them. Getting a sharp image was harder than I thought it would be as the clay insisted on sticking to the stencil grooves. I ended up making a clay mold and using that instead of the original stencils -- much easier. All 3 have little jump rings on top to be attached as a necklace.

Quick question, where can I get leather, plastic or rubber cords to use as necklaces?

so im new to this community, but i have been watching it for a while.
anyways.
i want to make a fake sword.
for a costume.
i have an idea of what it should look like.
but i dont know what materials i could use.
im thinking some sort of rod.
but it needs to be pointed at the end...
so that doesnt really make much sense.
and then some wire and clay maybe for the handle.
any suggestions would be great!

I've been away sailing on a ship for awhile...but I just recently got back and started making stuff again. I'm pretty into making small journals now, and they're pretty fun ... )
When I was at sea, I also learned some sailors' fancywork, and I made this...a monkey's fist necklace )
Thanks for looking!

A while ago I posted an entry with some pins I made from my new button maker. Well, I'm bored, and I've made a lot more since then. Pretend you're interested? )

It's pretty hard not to get glue on your hands when using it, I am using goop 600, so fortunatly, it comes off easily, but for other things that don't have any of you tried finger cots to keep your fingers mess free?

What other medical items have craft use purposes?

Can you help? I've decided to bring all the things I love to do into a part time business either doing misc craft shows or etsy. Every payday it's like I pay my bills and have nothing left, but here I am with skills to maybe make a difference. But here's the thing...

Everything I love to do is so varied there is no real "theme". I don't want to box myself in by doing JUST quilts or JUST bags, I'd like to be free and out of a "box" for the future. I think about the things I do and they do seem to have one thing that brings them all together:

Either the things are made from recycled materials (old into new), or it's an "old" traditional art form brought modern (quilts, doll quilts and classic toys with a modern twist).

So with this in mind, do you have any ideas for a business name to kind of bring it all together? Thanks!

thanks for all your stencilling suggestions earlier this week.  i ended up NOT stencilling a design onto the books, as it took me long enough just to get the circles cut (and at that, because of the way they xeroxed, they are still not exactly lined up...

in case you're curious as to what the finished product looks like (i warn you, it's not very exciting):

A dog!!
