"Dressmaker" From Hell
Jan. 28th, 2008 11:15 amHey everyone! This is my first time posting, mostly because i'm shy. :)
I have a question (with picture support) about the Dressmaker. (well i have the dressmaker II..but same difference). I don't know much about sewing with machines but i know this isn't supposed to happen. When i start so sew the stitch looks fine from the top but the second i flip it over, it's chaos. Tangles, knots, you name it. The needle sticks a little bit in the process but i don't think that's it? There's no friggin manual with it and i think my problem may be with the bobbin......since i have NO idea what to do with it. I looked at the memories but i only found this "http://community.livejournal.com/craftgrrl/1071883.html"
Help!

My first Dotee doll
Jan. 28th, 2008 11:47 amI'm in a swap where we are supposed to make two things from a list of ten requested handmade items. Unfortunately, my partner picked nine things I've never made before. I decided this would be a good opportunity to try something new, so here is my first item completed for the swap. ( In all her glory, behind the cut )
Thanks for looking!

Newsboys In New York: The Game.
Jan. 28th, 2008 12:11 pmI was wondering: How to combine my love of shadowboxes, self-contained wooden games, old New York, and Newsies?
So I made this.

Meet Georgette
Jan. 28th, 2008 02:21 pm( Pictures behind the cutcutcutcutcut )
It took most of the weekend to do, but it was well worth it.
The pattern comes from Beck Wheeler in the Softies book. I'm finally much more comfortable with my sewing machine, can you tell? I can sew a curved line, woo!!
Georgette is 20 inches from eye to toe.

So this is my very first attempt at making one of these so bare with me and be kind. LOL!
