for polymer clay & metal.
I have been trying to use (not sure what they are called) but they are a long piece of wire with a hoop on the top, and just trying to stick them into polymer and baking them doesn't work and they fall out.

Hot glues doesn't work at all, I am trying Gorilla glue right now, not sure how this is going to turn out, but does anyone know a good glue that works well and drys fairly quick.

thanks.

I've started making a button bouquet, but I'm having trouble finding cute buttons to use. I've checked out a few of the craft stores and most of the buttons are 4 to a pack and $2 a pop.

Where can I find a good color/size selection of buttons that come in bulk packs?

Does Michaels have any? I haven't checked there yet because it's a bit out of the way, but I did check AC Moore and the mixed bin of buttons they had pretty much sucked color-wise.

TIA!

ETA: I also have a bunch of magazines I need to unload, but I'd rather do something with them than just getting rid of them. Any project ideas?

My sister sent me some beading supplies for my birthday in November. I forgot I had them. Last night, I spent a couple of hours brainstorming and making these little gems out of them.

Hey guys, summer's coming and that means I'm gonna have a bunch of free time and want to make things again. Last summer I discovered that I like creating things, even if they don't look so great and experimented with making tote bags and such. like this one for example ). Anyway, this summer I'm gonna take it to the next step and go beyond just a sack with handles, and I wonder about interfacing. Do I just...stick it in there? Do I have to sew it onto the fabric or can I just slide it between the outside and in the inside fabric pieces?

And do you have any other tips for making handbags/purses? I always fail miserably at following the directions of a tutorial, and I like to learn better by just making the mistake then doing it right the next time. But if I can learn from anybody else's mistakes, that'd be great too. Thanks guys!

I spilled tons of tiny little beads, and I used a thin dishtowl to ocver the vac hose and sucked up all the beads, and they were held in place and not sucked into the hose. This tip is also good to use with thin panty hose for vaccuming stuffed toys or delicate brickabrack.

I have been pointed towards you by my kind friend H.

I was originally inspired by a similiar blanket on the Craftster board, but, for the life of me, I can't find it now. So, I wrote up the tutorial myself = http://needyl.com/crochet/wave-afghan-pattern

I've never worked from patterns, so I always appreciate feedback on if I'm writing them correctly.

i finally got around to making a purse out of my favorite salvaged antique book cover.. it's my first try at purse making and it's a little rough around the edges, but i like it.
the cover dates from the late 1880's.

If you wanted to customize a full size quilt, say with iron ons and appliques, but didn't want to sew it all from hand, could you find blankt quilts at craft shops or quilt stores or something? Or maybe you could just look real hard for a nice plainish one in discount shops and decorate very plain ones you found, or decorate the all white part on the back?

I've been making sequined...I guess they're quilts, they have a layer of batting between two layers of fabric and stitching through all three layers. I finished this one this week to give to my friend Andy for his birthday. He drinks a lot of coffee at work.

I wish I'd gotten a picture of the back. I left all the surface knots showing and drew a radish as a signature, and when he unwrapped it, he thought that was the front and seemed surprised when I pointed out it was "reversible." Hëh!

I want to ask before I go about posting, in case it's not really considered a craft ...

Would you consider digital scrap booking a craft? I've just started (yesterday!), and I would love to show off a few pages that I've done so far, but I didn't know if anyone would be interested.

Thank you for your input!

Lots n' lots of pictures of recent projects.

Under the cut is:

• A fleece appliqued tie blanket
• Fabric patchwork envelopes for envelope budgeting
• A coffee cozy
• Two toddler lounge sets
• A puppy plushie
• A quilted tote bag
• Two appliqued fleece baby blankets
• A mushroom pincushion

All under here... )

Phew. If you got through that, I owe you a cupcake.
