So today I've been thinking about what I can make for my friends for the Holidays and whatnot, and I was talking with one friend about how I could not think of anything for one of our other friends.  And then she suggested that I make a Flying Spaghetti Monster plushie for him because he's into stuff like that and he's probably seriously like it.

The problem is, I'm not entirely sure how I'd go about making the pattern for it.  I know that my mother could help me with everything else as she does a lot of embroidery and sewing.  The pattern part is all that concerns me.

Can any of you possibly help me out here?

So, today my boyfriend and I laid our hands on four perfectly good chairs and a dining room table for 50 bucks. (Well, that and a couch for $100 bucks but my mom bought it for us, thank you mom).

I made this one yesterday with silver toned chain, a small lightbulb and two silver-toned heart pendants.

Let me know what you think!

Hi everyone! This is my first post so I hope you'll forgive me for just asking questions this time around. I've been reading for a long time and love seeing everyone's creations. I crochet, knit, make stuffies and random other little crafts, and some jewelry here and there... so I will hopefully come back soon and post some of my work.

But my questions for now!

I fell in love with this idea: Polaroid Coasters. I want to replicate because I don't really care to have old fashioned ladydancers on my coasters, but I'm not sure how to go about it. I love the fact that they're magnets too. Could I do this with regular Polaroids somehow or would I have to recreate a printout that looks like a Polaroid? Any ideas on how to make these? I'm thinking a layer of magnet, a layer of cork, and a layer of whatever will get the image on there plus a coating.

My second question is a call for baby blanket patterns (crochet preferred, or really easy knitting) that don't look like they came out of the 70's. My friend did her son's room all in cute little safari print, and I want to make him a baby blanket but I can't find any blanket patterns that aren't 1) really hard or 2) really hideous or 3) really dated. Most of them just have appliques which is fine, but I'd rather do a cute pattern and skip making a bunch of animals to sew on. Pictures of the baby's room below the cut :)

THANKS!

My friend had some great fabric leftover from a project she was doing, and she gave it to me to make something out of.

So, I decided to make myself a new purse, but being without a sewing machine I had to do it all by hand.

7 hours later I had... )

My boyfriend wants to be Luke Skywalker for Halloween this year and wants a really good costume. (He's a HUGE Star Wars fan and wants to be able to wear his costume not only for Halloween. He'd wear it to the grocery store if I let him) I was wondering if anyone knew of any sites that would help me out. He wants to be the Luke from Return of the Jedi. With the black tunic and brown robe but I need a good picture. Or if anyone knows of any livejournal sites where people have made their own costumes, that would really help too. Thanks!!

I have been crafting like crazy for the past little while, but have been unable to do anything for the past couple of days because I have stitches in one of my fingers. So I figured I'd post some pictures of my pretties!

Warning: Lots of pictures of jewellry and cards!

See the pretties! )

I helped co-host a lolita (japanese fashion style, cute frilly stuff) craft party weekend before last. We decorated cupcakes and cookies, sewed hair bows and made cutesy jewelry out of clay. I thought you girls might enjoy some pictures of what we made.

Also, I was wondering who else here throws craft parties? Do you always have a theme or do you just freestyle craft it up with your friends? What do you do to keep it fun?
