Oct. 20th, 2008 10:03 amFinished this one nice and early lol... friend of mine just got a tattoo with this logo so I figured she might appreciate the idea. You know who you are btw, so stay away from this cut if you happen to wander by!

( I am not afraid )
So truth be told, I'm not really much of a Halloween person.
I mean, not so much in the way of zombies and death and blood and bats and all that creepy stuff.
About as creepy as I will get is abiding the Jack-O-Lantern, which is to say, really not creepy at all.
I'm a wuss, I will admit it, even when it comes to make-believe-y type things.
I've learned to accept this.
:)

Making Faces
Oct. 20th, 2008 12:39 pmWhile I was scavenging at a yard sale last week, I found a bunch of these:

they're just a bunch of ladies faces. I assume you use them to create pins or something... not really sure.
But I decided to go a little further than your standard tacky glam pin.
I've been working on these beauties:
( under a cut for size and an EDIT for a request )

Little Bat
Oct. 20th, 2008 02:33 pmI got a bunch of balloons from the homecoming parade my town had a week or so back . After the balloons died I kept the ribbons thinking I'd make something from them. So yesterday I sat down and freehanded a crochet bat out of them. I love recycling. :P I think it took me about 2 hours to make and put together. It wouldn't have taken quite as long, but I was watching True Blood and TV watching tends to slow me down a bit.

I put him on my Halloween wreath for the moment. I don't think that will be his permanent home, but it works for now.
You can also see these pics and a couple more if you have a Ravelry account by clicking here.

Gluing solutions?
Oct. 20th, 2008 04:46 pmHello again, ladies.
I have another question.
Last month I posted about making my own pages for a project I've been working on. I tore up an old social psychology textbook as well as some scrapbooking paper and modge podged two layers of them together on wax paper. When they dried, I removed them and voila - super cool pages. (I have photos of a bunch of stuff I've been up to and will post them soon!)
Now that it's getting close to the due date, I am beginning to give everything it's permanent spot within the book but I'm blanking - I need to attach photographs to this glossy, podged paper and I don't know what will stick best and look good. I don't want to use tape because I'm afraid it just won't stick. I'm thinking of hot glue, but worried about how it will effect the photos in the spots that I've glued.
Has anyone tried something like this?
What do you think would look best?

I'm making candle holders out of 4x4 douglus fur posts, cut to size, and the craft originaly used tea light candles, but I'd like to use something a little bigger, and wondered if those glass votive candle holders would present a fire hazerd tucked inside the 4x4. The fire hazard wuld come from a bare flame being near wood, and with the glass to be between the flame and the wood I don't see how it'd be a hazard.
I've wanted craft buddies for ages and ages, and since I don't work or have many social outlets I cam crafting ala party of one. Forgive me for asking Ig ot the idea from someone asking about craft groups in portland. I have so many projects I'd love to share with people and I sure could use some help completing big projects like the quilts cut to blanket size.

Oct. 20th, 2008 05:28 pmWent to walgreens earlier an they had 4 xl shirts on sale for 5 for 10 so I bought 21 shirts lol. I am in a clothing decorating mood, and didn't wanna cut up or mess up any of my good shirts, so finding these today was a good thing lol. If my idea bombs oh well , And if they turn out neat, I can wear them! I cut one clear up to just a few inces under my bra, and I am going to maybe stitch up the slice down the middle in a cool alternating color, and one I am cutting fringe all along the bottom, and I may beed the fringe, embroider the fringe in a diff color or I may puff paint the fringes. One I am thinking of doing bleach dots all along the neckline, and one I am cutting circular holes in down the middle and backing with an oposing color.
I'm also maybe gonna ask my sewing instructor eileen if she'll help me sew some jean crafts, you can rip out the seem an put in diffrent material for a fun an funky new look along the sides. I quit going to sewing cause I couldn't find the project I was working on an didn't wanna start a new one, plus I kinda wanted the 15 bucks a session for something else, but these craft idea's from the injeaninuty craft book havehave REALLY inspired me to go back for a few sessions.

christmas earrings
Oct. 20th, 2008 09:49 pmI got given a load of silly, slightly tacky christmas novelty earrings by a friend. I would like to make them into other things, and sell them to raise money for charity (i dont like selling things I have not made/ altered, it seems wrong somehow, and plus I don't know if she wore them...) any suggestions?
Thanks
