repodging

About a year ago I mod-podged the frontspiece of a messanger bag - not over the cloth, but over a kind of stiffer (but still slightly flexible) vinyl/plastic surface. Long story short, the paper I used was too stiff and it started coming up. I peeled most of it off but there's still a thin layer of dry modge podge on the surface. I just found the bag and I want to repodge it (with a more flimsy paper), and I was wondering if it's safe to do so over the remains of the older podge. Has anyone else had any experience with this kind of thing?

Hi craftgrrls -

To see the pretty tray I painted when I was sick last Monday, clicky! http://skwairpeg.com/craft%20page%20links/black%20tray.htm

I make a line of vegan lip balm in tins ( they look like this: http://www.pussypuckerpots.com/wholesale/prodimages/muffberry_lrg.gif ) and I'm looking for an inexpensive and uncomplicated way to seal them. I'm looking for a place that maybe custom-prints teeny little stickers, or sources on a kind of tape I could use to shrink wrap. Ideas?

well i bought my mom a pretty silk scarf for mother's day, and i decided i wanted to wrap it all cool, so i bought a little terra cotta planter, and some little fake flowers, and glued them all over the planter, and then i was going to take the scarf and fold it into a rose or something, and put it inside the plant.
but how do i do that?
the scarf is about 85 x 85 cm (30 x 30 inches?) and very thin and filmy.
how could i make it into some sort of rose/flower thing?

hey guys. i've been checking this community out for only 2 days, but i am obsessively hooked, and thus decided to join.

pregunta-
[i checked the memories section and couldn't find anything, so i appologize if it's there and i'm just a moron]
my boyfriend's twin brother is getting married, and he and i want to make something for them in addition to buying them something mass-produced and impersonal. they're young [25/26], nerdy [think lord of the rings, action figures and comic books], artsy [he draws comic books + she is obsessed with the art of decoupage and x-stitching], and much deserving of something bad-ass. the wedding isn't until october, so we have a good amount of time. also, they've lived together for a few years now, so they have pretty much everything basic [coffee tables, etc.], which throws out my idea of decoupaging a coffee table [do they really need 2?]. i want to make them something useful, not just something that will sit on a shelf amongst massive amounts of action figures and never be seen. any ideas!? i don't know why i'm so brain dead about this.

sorry so long. i talk too much.

I wanted to screen print this illustration that I did on a PVC/vinyl skirt , can it be done as in do I need special paints to do it? I have fabric paints here but I'm not sure if they will stay on PVC/vinyl. Anyone help?

hey everyone. my sister's brithday is coming up and she loves the artwork done by keith haring... so i decided to make her a clock. :o)

i am not that great when it comes to copying artwork, but i tried. the body is paper mache that i sculpted around a tin foil base. then i let it cure and harden for a few days. i used and exacto knife to cut a square out of the back (removed the foil) and placed the clock mechanism in it.

by the way, the mechanics were taken from an old clock we were gonna throw out. it still worked, so i recycled. i recommend this for any future clock makers since the mechanics can get pretty pricey from craft stores. just hit the thrift stores and maybe carry a battery or two with you to test some of them while you are shopping. ;o)

anyway, here are some pics of the front and back. i know i should have taken pics of the process, but i dont have a digital cam... these were taken with the webcam... so forgive the ickyness of them.

see my sister's clock )

This might be inappropriate for the community; but being that it's a grrrls' community, I think many will be interested as well.

Does anyone have an idea on how to make a strap-on harness?

Or any resources on how to make sex toys in general?

When I saw this page I fell in love with this craft and wanted to share it with you all even though you might have seen it already. Has anyone tried it? I would love to one day.

does anyone know of a good website (as in with pictures and easy to understand) that shows how to sculpt faces? female would be better if all possible. for my religions class i'm sculpting parvati (hindu goddess) and i have never done people before so it probably wasn't the best idea, but too late now. it's only about a foot tall so i don't need too much detail in the face. thanks :)

Hello, I'm Moni. My crafts include shuttle tatting (for just over 2 years now), cross-stitch (since at least 8 yo, but can't remember NOT xs'ing), some (light) sewing, & occasional others. I'm a sometime member of the SCA (Elizabethan persona), and work as a historian in a 19th-century house museum. Anything you'd like to know, feel free to ask!
