Some shirts I made tonight:

This-

is a really cool vertical stripe and lacey bra that I have with matching underwear. I was really upset because I really like this bra, and I felt like it was too nice to hide under a shirt....soo...I made it into a shirt!!

This is the front and back of what became a racer back style shirt:

+2 )

Now, I had a bunch of stretchy black shirts that I cut the sleeves off of, hemmed the top, and made into tube tops. But I felt like they were too boring just plain black...so I took it upon myself to make these:

and this

So there you go.
P.S. Add me?

Hey all,

I'm responsible for providing drinks to a bbq this weekend and I want to try something different... so if anyone has any spiffy drinks recipies - please post 'em! I've already thought of some smoothies, and iced coffee drinks... preferably non-alcoholic :D

I'd love to make a drink someone invented.

Oh! I think I remember seeing a post for using mint leaves but I couldn't find it again.

Thanks guys!

<3 - katherine.

Thank you!

Hi everyone,

Long time lurker, first time poster :-)

Anyway, I've got a problem. My nephew took some of my nail polish while I was at school and got it all over some of the things I left home, including a polyester dress, my graduation dress (cotton), and a shirt (cotton). I've tried bleaching, which took the pigment out of the shirt but didn't even touch the nailpolish, and now I'm soaking it in nail polish remover, which seems to be taking off some of the layers but none of the pigment.

Do any of you have suggestions for getting nail polish stains out of these materials? I'm probably going to dye or cut the sleeves off the shirt (since that's all it got on), but I need to keep both dresses as-is.

Thanks!

I made a little change purse out of an old jean pocket, some green polka dot fabric, and Heat n Bond. The button in the picture is just to hold the top part down. I'm going to sew that button on a little later.

Hello. :)

I think this is my first post in this community. Here is a picture of a jacket I made using the downloadable Yohji Yamamoto jacket pattern from Showstudio.com.

You can also find the picture in their site:

Thanks for looking. :)

I purchased the CircleScissor by EK today. As soon as I got home I opened it to try it out. I used my JoAnn's ad because it was lying around. The CircleScissor ate it up terribly. I tried the cover of a magazine. The CircleScissor wouldn't even go through it. Instead, the blade snapped right off the cutting pen. Lovely!

So, stay away from the CircleScissor by EK!

Does anyone have any suggestions for GOOD circle cutters? I thought this one looked good because you can cut over 120 different sizes, but it's no good. What should I buy??

I live in a condo where the other units are still in the rehab phase. I've been keeping an eye on the dumpster out back for treasues (i.e. Craft Toys) Anyway, today I noticed some nice canvas sized (maybe 2' by 2' to 3' by 3') blocks of drywall and some bricks. I don't want to haul them out if they are just going to collect dust and take up space. Does anyone have any experience using drywall for anything useful? It is good to use as a mock canvas or will it get all crumbly and wiggly? Anything else I could do with it? build boxes maybe? hmmm.. anyone have any ideas?

I don't often post here, but I read a lot. Today I had a dillemma, and all of the reading I've done here came in handy.

I have just started a small business with my brother, selling rainbow stained glass suncatchers at Pride festivals. So far, it's going pretty well. Tomorrow is our second Pride festival.

One of the problems that I had at my last festival was that my business cards kept blowing around. They are printed on vellum and not very heavy, but I didn't want to cover them up with anything and keep people from taking one.

So, as I'm sitting at my desk, I look up on the shelf over my computer and I notice this AOL can. And I stare at it for a minute. Then I turn around and look at the tv for a while and suddenly notice this vase that I have next to the television with those glass half-marbles in it. And my brain starts ticking.

So, I grabbed the AOL can and sprayed the inside of it and the sides of it with forest green spraypaint (because that happened to be what color I had) and I grabbed the half marbles, thinking I would make marble-magnets out of them. That way, I could set the business cards in the halves of the tin, set the marbles on top of the business cards and keep them from blowing away. Lucky for me, most of the half marbles I have are also dark green!

Well, it turned out I didn't have any magnets on hand that were strong enough, but then realized that all I really need to do is set the marbles inside the tin and they will hold down the business cards. The edges of the tin will keep them from rolling around or falling off the table.

After the festival tomorrow, I'll let y'all know how it worked. I really just wanted to say THANKS for all the great ideas! :)
