Hi folks. I've been browsing this community off and on for quite a while.
I was just wondering if any of you have done any Martial Arts crafts?

Specifically I'm interested in dogi modifications, but I'd love to see anything else anyone has done.

Thank you :)

I made this post yesterday in my journal. It describes how I create handmade paper, and has photos of the process. The photos are behind cuts if you come in via my journal rather than the link above. [livejournal.com profile] tyrsalvia suggested that I post a link to it here. I haven't been a member of this community before today, so I hope that it is appropriate to this forum and that you all find it useful.

If you have any questions about the techniques, please leave a comment and I'll try to address them. Thanks!

EDIT: If you want to see the paper I've made, I have another post where I show pictures of that.

I received a beautiful blue necklace for Christmas made from a crackle marble. It's so special to me. I made several while home bored this past week. I'm going to make a few necklaces and one bracelet with several of these hanging from a silver charm like bracelet. I think I'll do a mixed color bracelet and then one with the all white diamond like marble. I love these and wanted to share them here.

Hey everyone!

I am taking an art class this semester called "The Art of Horticulture" and I really want to incorporate knitting/fiber art into my final project since we will be discussing plant fibers and the like. I have an idea already to make a crapload of knitted/crocheted flowers- but I am not sure what to do with them. I really don't have any ideas except for a vague mosaic type thing but I am not sure exactly how I would accomplish that.

I was wondering if any of you had ideas for something that would be useful, artistic, or neat that I could do with a ton of knitted and crocheted flowers. I just want to brainstorm some ideas- be they far out or down to earth. Any idea is welcome!

Does anyone have any ideas of things that can be done with wall paper borders?

I have thought about with some of them I could take my exacto knife and cut out some of the designs and put on some things, but I'm not exactly sure what. My sister-in-law does a lot of craft shows that sell a lot of neat things, in country/Americana styles, so I want to come up with some things that I can make that she can take to the shows she does.

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can buy canvas by the yard? I am looking for the stuff sturdy tote bags are made from (like LL bean type), but perhaps in some colors other than the typical beigy stuff. I haven't been able to find much googling...hmm...

Well i got some stuff to make some shag like wreaths. This one was made with using fabric and a small wire frame for a wreath. I have fabric to make two more but i need to get another small wire. The big one is gonna be a pain to get done as this one took two nights of my time and needs to be fixed a lil.

What do you think?

**W-A-R-N-I-N-G** I am not the craftiest of folks.

What I'm looking for are some suggestions ~ I am getting married May 1st and thought, in an effort to save a few bucks, I'd make the wedding favors, My idea is is to give the guests their own little zen gardens. I know I can buy the boxes, sand, rocks, and the like at Michael's, but what I'm REALLY interested in finding are the little rakes. My plan is to take a thin permanent marker/pen and write our names & the date on the handle of the rake.

Any thoughts on where to find the rakes? Also, any comments or suggestions are GREATLY appreciated!

I love how all my posts in here are questions. I tend to give away my crafts before I photograph them/I lack a camera.

That said,

I have an old pair of super stretch jeans. I had them for a year before the ass disintegrated, as my mother never told me to NOT put them in the dryer. Dryers destory spandex? Who knew?! (not me!) Anyway, I'd like to patch them or something, except that they are SUPER frayed and all stringy, but..but they fit me so well. *lip quiver*

Any suggestions? [I don't really want to patch them with spandex and I think that if I put another fabric behind it won't quite stretch right...)

and so this isn't entirely text only...here is my latest art project.

Oh baby oh baby )

Whoo, I made a new purse! This one is brown with a pretty polka-dot rose pink lining. I also had some left over fabric and I made a cute little coin purse to go with it.

Pretty Polka Dots, pearls, and silk flowers... )

Have you ever bedazzled your pair of Seven jeans? What about knitted your dog a groovy sweater? How about designed your own handbag? If so, this show is for you!!!

Craft Corner Death Match, a new show in production for the Style Network, is seeking fun, enthusiastic people that would be part of our studio audience. Free goodies will be given away to audience members and you have a chance of seeing your mug on TV for the world to see.

Each episode has a panel of CRAFT CORNER DEATH MATCH celebrity judges that score three rounds of competition, judging each craft on beauty, creativity, and utility.

okay...so the bridge on my cello broke today thanks to someone very clumsy...and i took the broken bridge off and painted it, then superglued it back together. i plan on using the broken, painted bridge as a wall hanging or some other form of bedroom decoration.

pictures of my broken and superglued, painted cello bridge )

i wouldnt put a broken and superglued bridge back on my cello, and currently it has been sent out to be fitted for a brand new bridge...the thought of this painted one on my cello excites me, and im wondering: if i were to paint the new one, would it somehow change the sound travelling from the strings to the body of the instrument?

of course before i would do anything i'd ask a few experts on this, but im just curious if anybody knows anything about it or has tried it or could give me some insight into this...anything would be helpful.
