Anyone here experienced in making knitting charts?  I've got a bit of a debacle.

(x-posted to punkknitters but only because i really need help)

It's supposed to be Audrey Hepburn, for the Poster Boy bag from SNBN.   I'm not sure if I did it exactly right, but when it comes to knitting it, I might be able to make a few creative decisions to make it work.

images... I tried my best )

What do you think?  Does it look like her? What about when I knit it?  Any suggestions?

I've been busy making some owls. I made up the pattern. The flowery yellow one I made fiirst and I don't like his beak as much. The tiger belly blue one is my favorite. I just made the white and aqua flower bellied one yesterday.

I attempted to make dandelion jelly this weekend, and while everything went quite smoothly (the jars popped! yay!) the jelly will not set. I followed the directions exactly, and while I was scooping the jelly out of the pot and into the jars it was congealing on the glass measuring cup.

Is there anything I can do at this point? I used the recipe from the Prairieland Herbs web site (http://www.prairielandherbs.com/dandelionjelly.htm), and tripled it, if that makes any difference. I really don't want to have to throw 12 jars of delicious jelly (kind of) away if I can help it!

I made this!

It's a tabletop Lazy Susan that I picked up at the Sally Ann for a couple of dollars. It was hideous. Hideous, I tell you! Ugly stain and chipped varnish and horrible grease spots. I sanded it down and gave it a new reason to live! I like how the fish appear dour, but are really experiencing WUV, TWOO LUV!

Success!

Just wanted to thank you all for your help with my resin problems, and had to show you the finished product!

The faces are still drying, but if they DON'T I know what to do in the end :D Each little sun has a piece of ukrainian egg within it, which creates the design.

Thanks again :)

Here's a picture of the afghan I made for my mom.

If I would have thought ahead and known I was going to trim it in green I would have made the whole bottom part green. But I didn't and it's too late now. Oh well. :-P

It's not really uneven on the sides, it just looks wavey because I didn't straighten it up when I took the pictures.

I made a bunny bag today and yesterday. It only took like 5 hours all together which is good for me. I'm really proud of this one. :)

Thanks for looking! Now I'm gonna go watch tv and be happy that I finished it!

I found a bunch of my moms old jeans, I'd like to wear them, but the waist goes up way too high.. is there a way to cut the waist shorter and wear the jeans..something not too complicated? Or is it a lost cause?

So I saw all the pop tab bracelets that people were making and decided that while I didn't want a bracelet I did need a new purse. So now, two months later, I have enough tabs for one side (154) and have started wiring them together, but I've run into a problem. I have two rows of 18 made (there will be 9 total) the tabs are side by side wired through both holes and that works great, but when I try to wire the two rows I together I have problems.

Handmade Notebook.

I've been working on these for a while now. Here's one I made today. Unfortunately, there are a few minor problems with it that I can't seem to fix no matter what I do, so rather than selling it as planned, I guess I've got a new notebook

but im just really frustrated. i dont know how to make a new row and also,
every time i make a knit or purl stitch theres really long string between the two needles

any help/links/pictures will help. im just trying to knit a simple scarf!!!ahh!

Hello all! I just joined this community a few days back, and I am really enjoying reading all these posts and seeing the great stuff everyone comes up with. Pretty much every time I check in, I have to jot down ideas of things I want to try too. :) Anywho, I mostly make jewelry, but I also sew. I finally got the courage to sew something without a store bought pattern, so I thought I would share it.

Does anybody have any good patterns for beaded things using stretchy string..?

I was looking at several book stores, and I noticed that knitting seems to be getting much hipper now a days. I mean, there are still these old fashioned things, but there are also things I would actually see the younger crowd wearing. I got excited. I saw 'stitch and bitch' which people have mentioned, and I thought "I bet they have something for crochet too!!"

Boy, and I dissapointed. There weren't very many crochet books and the ones there were full of those ugly things you see on a grandmother's couch.

Are there hip books on crochet?

You may remember the altered book that I posted a bit back. Well, I added more and here's what is new (sorry if there are repeats, I can't quite remember what I've posted or not)

I tried my hand at making my own little monster tonight. I didn't have any felt, so I just used the sleeve of a shirt that I'd cut up at some point and some other scraps. I think I might go get some felt tomorrow. He's awful goofy looking, but well, I think he's kinda cute. :)

Boo, I'm a monster!! )

A few of you might remember me posting about a week or two ago about instructions for a beaded cross I was commissioned to do...

I got quite a lot of feedback, and it was wonderful (thanks!) but I've run into a problem...

Apparently what I showed me commisioner is the wrong type of cross...

So does anybody have any sort of pattern or idea about how to make an orthodox cross?

it looks like this:

Any help would, at this point, be a godsend!
