Here are some shirts I painted with Acrylics. Some with glittery puffy fabric paint. I generally print out the picture I want to make and then cut around it so I can get a general idea of where it'll be on the shirt. Then I free-hand the rest because I often mess up stencils...stupid paint going under the paper (even freezer paper).

I finally got a digital camera! Now I can show you what I like to make.

I made this water bottle bag for those times when I don't want to carry my Nalgene bottle in my hands or in a backpack. I used cotton that was recycled from a commercial knit sweater!

Do any of you have the link that lets you put in images and get out knitting patterns? Help a sistah out!

I bought some pre-cut foam shapes and painted them with some acrylics that I already had at home. I had noticed in the same section, there was special paint for the foam, but I didn't want to spend $4 bucks on each color. Now I'm wondering how I should seal these? I'm making antenna balls...and here in Seattle, you have to have everything weatherproofed! Would a polyurethane spray be enough to waterproof it? I'd hate for the paint to run all over my friend's car!

It is EPS (expandable polystyrene). I checked the website (plus many others) and only found tips as to what type of paint to use...not how to seal it for the weather :( but these are specifically made to be antenna toppers, so you'd think there'd be some instructions for sealing

Hey guysss!
Does anyone know if you can get a fabric medium for acrylic paint at walmart/super walmart? What kind of brands? I looked on their website and I couldnt even find the acrylic paints and I know they have those.

And so it's not text only, a painting!

I have a peice of orangeish-tan belt leather that I would like to dye as dark brown as possible and I'm wondering if anyone knows any easy, hopefully inexpensive, and reliable ways to do that?

Any help that you could offer would be greatly appericated. Thanks!

Hi everyone I love this community, such talent. This may seem a bit random but does anyone know where I can buy bubblewrap? I've used up all the clean stuff I could scavenge from parcels and such. I'm in the UK so if anyone could suggest a shop they're 90% sure sells it I'd be most grateful.

In the interest of keeping this from being a text only post here are some pictures of cards )

So I used Marta's Hermione and Ron images in my quilt. Ron turned out FABULOUS, but I'm stuck with what to do about Hermione's hair. Do I paint a layer and stitch in distinctive strands? Or do I take my time and realy stitch it all out? Or just stitch a few and hope it doesn't look lame?

I've never been really artistic or crafty (I hated arts & crafts as a kid) and the only thing I know how to do is to crochet (just afghans and scarves) from patterns. I'm not particularly creative, but I love seeing the things people come up with here :)

Anyway, for my birthday, a friend of mine who works at a movie theatre gave me a film reel (Spider-Man 3 teaser trailer). It's been really useful as a paperweight for the past couple of weeks, but now I want to try to do something creative with it, and give it to my boyfriend if it turns out good enough. My friend's boss made a lampshade out of a Star Wars Episode III trailer reel, but I wanted a few more ideas before I cut up and ruin it.

I'll try to post something cool next time!

Thanks :)

Hello everyone! I'm new to the community and I must say I'm very impressed with all of the amazing stuff and tutorials posted, gosh. I'm very new to all of this, I guess a total fish out of water. I'm really interested in starting to make clothes and bags and such. Right now I'm working on a cupon book, super excited. The only real crafty stuff I've been doing is stenciling, which I've only been doing about 2 months or so.

Wow, it has been TOO long since I posted here...like months.

Anyways, being at home and getting ready to school shop, the female parent here decided that I should start wearing some of my older pants to 'add variety' to my wardrobe.

The problem is....my old pants are very, very boring, and I have no active sewing machine.

So what does a girl do with a pair of Old Navy Wide Legs?

Hi!  I'm not new, I just have a new lj account.

Well, I 've spent 2 days trying to get my borrowed sewing machine to work. I've finally given in and tomorrow I'm off to spend £100 on a shiney new one. The whole point of borrowing one was to save money. *sigh*

So does anyone use a Janome 2139? How are they?

I've got it into my head that when we move, my boyfriend and I are going to have a 'Morroccan-inspired' bedroom. I already have candle holders, lanterns, etc, and painting/decorating shouldn't be too much of a problem. The one thing that we don't have, however, is a bed! For a while I was eyeing a bed from Ikea which is black powder-coated steel, but, well, I don't like the idea of spending all that money. So I need some ideas as to how I should go about making a bed/head board fitting with the theme. That preferably doesn't involve excessive metal working or carving, because I'm not that good. Please give me some ideas!

I TRIED and failed miserably so I was hoping you guys had some valid hints and instructions.. thank you!

So I bought a cool painting at a second-hand store today. I was really excited until I looked at the back of the canvas and it seems to have mold stains on the back. Is there any way to remove this without ruining the painting? The painting was only $5 so it is not the end of the world if it gets ruined but it would be nice to save it.

Hi, my name is Alicia. I've been a part of this community for probably two years now and I've seen people make all kinds of wonderful things. Within the last year I've become obsessed with creating things out of polymer clay. After playing with faces, sushi and Katamari Damace beads, I started doing clay cakes and desserts, which I always loved. Behind the cut are some of my creations. Now I need your help. I make earrings, bracelets, cell phone charms and necklaces out of these. At what price do you think I should place the various items?
