What was made on him: wings, horns and I cut up the pants (lol, does that even count?). What was made on me: wings and skirt. The horns are just made out of sculpty & glitter. The wings are made out of fabric, 14 guage wire, fake flowers & leaves and hot glue (and the blue ones are held on with ribbon).

Greetings and salutations, sorry no pics. I have a few questions regarding melt and pour soaps: can one use a two part mold and how would one do so? how might one flavor the soaps strawberry or chocolate? would it be safe to include a resin'd object in a soap? and last of all where can i buy rib trim for waistbands and cuffs and such? i haven't had much luck online would joanns or someplace have it in bright colors? sorry to barage everybody with so many questions, and i looked through the memories and thanks a million :D

Yesterday I asked for help with wooden handles.
Well, I got some help from my mother and here's the result:

bigger and more... )

I'm using it for my embroidery projects, but I think it
might be too big. At least for now when I'm only working
on one project =)

where is everyone getting their chainlinks for jewelry making?

and.....

does anyone know how to make a KILN? as much as i'd love to buy one, i don't believe i can afford one. i'd rather make my own anyway. that way, i can make it whatever size i choose. (by the way, i plan on using the kiln for glass more than anything, but perhaps clay as well.)

THANKS!

I am doing a lot of beading lately, making eaarings and necklaces. I know how to do the french hooks, but I'm curious as to how you would go about making posts?

Last night I made a wallet type pouch. It's interfaced so it's nice and sturdy.

i made this for my parents for valentines day.
but i don't know what to do with it!

either i put it on a red pillow or maybe i should just frame it with a black passepartout around it.
what do you think? unfortunately i hasn't got much space around the embroidery.

Thanks, Linda

Last year at the after-Prom party, I won a pair of amethyts. They are only about a 4th of an inch long, so pretty small. I have just had them sitting around, but I decided I'd like to use them for something. I was thinking earrings, but I have no idea how I would attach them onto earrings. This is what they look like...

much of it isn't sooooo great, but I've only done this for about a year. you'd think that'd be enough. but it's not.

i was wondering if there was any possible way to save these shoes. i was thinking of maybe sewing it back together, but i can't think of any strong enough to use. any suggestions?

First I wanted to extend a huge thank you to everyone who responded to that post I made concerning jewelry techniques with soldered jump rings. I'll be getting back to responding to those shortly. It gave me some excellent food for thought.

Sadly I have yet to recieve back my package of sculpted goods and jewelry that I created during Christmas break. As soon as I get it all back, I will be posting images.

Things have been rather stressful since classes started again. I have needed some serious creative release. Here are a few artistic things I've recently done.

Art images back here... )

That's all for now.

Hopefully some jewelry to come later.

I am trying to find out if there are communities for journals where one not only creates art but writes as well. I can't seem to locate any on my own.

I knitted this scarf today while watching the YYYs dvd. My mom thought it was my cat when she walked past my room, hahaha. I used the keyhole idea from Stich'n'Bitch. It's made from unevenly spun yarn I got at a street bazaar in Hong Kong. It's really warm, but it vomits fuzz all over my clothes. How can I stop this? Will washing it help? Also, do you think it'd look better with fringe?

beaded mask

Here's my weekend project~! A rather silly thing to take on, considering I have little to no experience with a) maskmaking b) beading c) wire sculpture. But a smaller project than beaded wings... which I still intend to make...

more pics )

I used three gauges of wire and beads I had laying around. I was going to make it attachable to my face... but it was turning my fingers black, so I made the stick part. I'm going to buy more wire and better beads and make another one + wings. Yay!

I wanted a sock monkey for a really long time, but I could never find one anywhere. Imagine my excitement when I stumbled upon a make-your-own-sock-monkey kit at Wal-Mart.

The kit came with the stuff to make a bedtime themed monkey, but instead, I decided to turn her into a pretty lady monkey. Her name is Josephine. My boyfriend has a sock monkey named Atlas, so we've decided that Atlas and Josephine should be in love. Yes. ^_^

I had a little monkey; I sent her to the country... )

hi guys, i've been struggling with this all evening and I can't figure it out!!
I'm a newbie at crochet, but I can read directions and abbr pretty well, i'm just not so good at creating my own patterns and working just from a photo.

I'm trying to make something like this:

I want to make a crochet necklace like that with crocheted "beads".
I have beads that are the right size, but I can't crochet around them without it looking horribly lumpy and unattractive.
i can't tell if they are crocheted around an actual bead or if they are crocheted balls stuffed with filling, but either way is fine!
if anyone can point me in the right direction, i would be so grateful.

thank you :)

Sooooooo I'm dressing up as Jane from Mary Poppins, my friend is going to be Michael. I'm making my dress. I made him a tie. Pictures later. but for now, we tried making a kite. and it was ridiculously unsuccessful. As in like, the frame worked and then we put newspaper on it and painted it and then it wrinkled and yeah. unsuccessful.

so has anyone made a kite before? just like a simple, diamond, kite?

thanks so much

This is a pin I made for my cardiologist, because he is a kind man and an excellent doctor. I figured someone needed to tell him so. It's made of fimo. The heart measures roughly over an inch tall. I made the small bandage just using some plastic tools on the fimo, and then after I had baked it painted it the appropriate bandaid color. Finally I varnished the hell out of the the heart, but didn't put any on the bandaid. Bandaids aren't that shiney, and I liked the contrast.

Sorry about the picture. Normally the pics come out well with this camera, but tonight not so much. I couldn't get it to do the pin any justice. That's a shame, because the pin is super cute.

Have a happy and a healthy!

there's nothing worse then loving to sew & having a sewing machine that ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY. it simultaneously makes me want to bawl & heave it against a brick wall.

These are a few beaded pieces I recently did. They are not as nice as others posted on here, but I thought I'd share anyway.
