Okay, so I suceeded in making one of these, but now I am trying to decided what to do with it.
I think I want to make it into a snow globe for my mom.
Soo questions:

-What should do you put in a snow globe to make it snowy?
-If I were to put a picture or something in it, how do you suppose I should go about it? I dont have access to a laminator thing..?
-How would I seal up the light bulb?
-If this proves to be too difficult of a last minute gift, what else could I do with it?

I dont think this was in the FAQ at all, but if I missed something then please point me in the right direction.

Thank you so much ♥

Back not long ago I made a post showing people my rose earrings.

I have been given a few ideas that I'm going to be working on such as rings, necklaces, hairclips. And if people want to keep seeing my progress I'll throw up pics whenever I finish a project? I won't always be doing flowers though. I wanna make other random novelty earrings and such too =3 retro games and anime stuff also.

But for now I have something simple. This one is sticking with the flowers.

It's a bracelet )

Made from polymer clay. Yes all the little leaves too. They were all made with the mindset that everything in nature is special and eccentric. Like no snowflake is identical to any other neither are my flowers or leaves =D Anyway that's what I tried to do. Comments, crits...any more suggestions on things for me to make with my lateblossomins somewhat there artish skills.

Oh and for the people who wanted me to take a picture of myself with the earring on so you can see a size comparison with a human face. ...I look chubby in this picture..i'm not good with camera angles.
The picture is hosted here on my livejournal pics journal

stocking

My boyfriend is an avid video game player/collector of systems. So when it came down to deciding how I wanted to decorate his stocking, there was only one logical, hardcore way to go. MARIO!

I bought the stocking at joanns, and used heat and bond ultra to attach felt pieces that I had cut out. I opted to make mario's outfit green and white instead of red and blue, to provide more color contrast. The eye and hand details were drawn on using permanent marker. I also cut out my boyfriends name from felt, along tiny "+1" details near mario's hands.

It came out surprisingly well, so now I am making myself a matching princess toadstool one. More pictures when I am done!

I carved a rubber stamp from an art gum eraser (which was really easy to carve with an exacto knife) and then stamped these little stationary sets on rag paper. Each set is approximately 2" x 3" and comes all tied up with string and a ribbon and with a matching envelope. I finally finished making Christmas gifts, so I decided to make something for myself! :) It was pretty simple to make... and I made it with a *gasp* knifty knitter! But it's basically just a rectangle (that tapers a bit at the ends) folded in half. I used a brooch as the closure (gotta love the $1 section at Target!). Since I can't sew... I cut out the lining of an old purse I dont use anymore and hand stitched it to the inside of the purse. It's the first purse I've ever made, and I'm pretty happy with the outcome! :)

Howdy! I'm looking for a way to get a silohouette image on this nice bag I just got. Only problem - the bag is made of corduroy, and I'm not sure that the screenprinting process I found on this community would work.

http://www.livejournal.com/community/craftgrrl/3674467.html

Anyways - I'm worried that the ink will be applied funny around the raised ridges of the fabric. Does anyone have any experience with this? If not, I'm wondering if it's possible to shave down the ridges of the fabric so that the image would apply properly. Thanks!

Hi my name is Stephanie and i am new to the community. :)
i have had lots of experience with sewing, and have taken many classes but i am totally lost with this one ..

i do not know how to make a quilt or even know where to begin.
i want to make a quilt that has pictures, solid colors, quotes , etc. some with words, or phrases.
i have seen them made and they are just gorgeous.
i want to make one for my best friend when we leave eachother for college.

i guess what im wondering is what i have to do, what i need, how to put pictures onto the fabric, everything i need to know. lol
so any suggestions or knowledge would help.
because i am completely lost.
thanks :)

Sweet, sweet [livejournal.com profile] rocknrollpsycho once came across a special banana in a toy store: it was plush, and you could unzip the peel to reveal a button-eyed fruit dwelling inside. But, for some reason, she didn't buy it, and since then it's come up in conversation every few months. I'd scour the internet trying to find one for her, but they'd all be ugly clown props if I found anything at all.

So I decided to make one. After I took these pictures, I opened him up and added more stuffing (since he was an awfully lumpy banana) and straightened his mouth, because the crooked grin was seriously creepy.

Banana! About 130k of pictures within )

Yay! More Christmas crafts to come over the next few days, after I give them to everyone.

So my boyfriend is from Korea and has all of these shirts that have Korean, Chinese, and Japanese on them. He has loads of duplicates, so I stole a few and decided to make stuff with them. Welcome to my first creation.

I took a regular t-shirt and added sleeves, neckline, and hood. This is my first time doing all three and it turned out pretty good. And since it was his shirt... who better to force to model the shirt, but the beau, himself? (No worries, I'm keeping the shirt for myself... I won't make him wear it out...)

I made this for two very good friends of mine who got married just over a month ago. Both of them are New Zealanders who spent a few years in Los Angeles, where we met. I love these people so much, I wanted to give them something really special for their wedding- and, since I was the only one of their LA friends able to make the trip to New Zealand to actually go to their wedding, I wanted it to be something that would remind them of all the people here who still loved them.

Here's the end result:

I got a big box of scraps from [livejournal.com profile] kambriel, so that's what this is mostly made of, plus a few scraps from my own collection. Lush, rich velvets (embossed, crushed, and plain), satins, silks and laces make up the bulk of the fabric, with a few pieces of wool and cotton thrown in for good measure (loooots of texture, since most of the fabric was black). There's also some red, plum, blue, and grey color.

Also, what made this quilt very special were the printed panels; nearly 60 in all, printed on transfer paper and ironed onto some plain whit cotton. Each panel had some special significance; there was Pasadena City Hall, Charlie Brown's Christmas tree, the American and New Zealand flags, and some scans of "Munchkin" cards, for instance.

It took me a *month* to make, and has about 1,000 pieces, but it was worth it. Sorry if the picture's blurry. I've asked the Kiwis to take some better pictures for me in the future (they love the quilt, btw).

Hey folks!

Figured it was about time to post again, I've done so much crafty stuff this holiday season...but I always seem to give my gifts away before I remember to take pictures. But this is something my boredom inspired me to make a while back. The result of 3 hours, a blank holder, hundreds of sequins, and numerous sticks of hot glue....INTRODUCING THE

I know that everyone is sick of hearing about the Knifty Knitter, but I have one more Chrismukka (hehe) present to do before then. I saved this for last because I'm not giving it to the person on Thursday. Anyway, I only have a few pattern websites for the KK and nothing on them is what I'm looking to make. The sites that I have are:
http://www.provocraft.com/projects/projects.php?prdindex=kniftyknitter&dsp=list
http://yarngear.com/looms/stitches1.htm
http://www.macphersoncrafts.com/FreeProjects/FreeProject_KniftyKnitter_Detail.asp
http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/how-to-loom-knit.html#ewrap
I'm not very good at this, as in I learned how to make a brim earlier today, and for some reason I can't knit panels, just the circle dealie.
Thanks, and Happy Holidays!

My boyfriend and I are both avid World of Warcraft fans. I am also (so people say) handy with a sewing needle. We often play WoW together, and one of the characters he created to play with mine is a female tauren shaman named Urbina. Tauren look a bit like cows on two legs, so I was inspired to use a sewing pattern for a plush cow and re-create her.

I've had this top for 4 years and I only wore it once for a family picture, so i thought I'd try and get some use out of it....

Before:Read more... ) It was very simple.  i just stitched up the bottom & the arm holes, then cut the straps & sewed them together to make one long one.
I haven't lined it yet, since I have nothing to match right now.  I have a sewing machine but i never use it because, well, I don't know how!
