Has anyone here used "transfer magic" Ink Jet iron-on transfer paper before with a LASER printer?

I am trying to make a bag with all of the sleater-kinney albums printer on it, and the easiest way I can think of acheiving this is with iron-on transfer paper. I used it before with my dad's computer and ink jet printer, and it worked great.

But that is all gone now, and I have a macintosh and a laser printer, and there are no transfer papers that I can find for a laser printer, and all of this crap is incompatible. I don't know anyone else at the moment that has an ink-jet printer either (most people I know don't even have a computer actually).

I am wondering if it would get all messed up since the printer uses toner, and not ink?

There is paper for laser color copiers too (which say specifically that they cannot be used with a laser PRINTER, for who knows why), but copy places seem to have a cow if you don't have the rights/written permission to use the images. It's for ONE BAG, an homage to the recently broken up band.

All I know is this project got really complicated really fast because of my stupid laser printer. Pffffft! But I already bought everything for it, so I am wondering if anyone has any experience or advice on the matter?

Any info you can give me would be great! Thanks so much!

Someone in this community awhile back made the "Fetching" gloves from Knitty.com, and in the comments of that entry she encouraged me to make them as well--I'm sorry I've forgotten your username, but thank you! I tackled them as a birthday present to my mom and they turned out awesomely if I do say so myself...

Pokey things, gloves, and a shirt back here )

Decided to try to make a little extra cash whilst I train as a Police Officer (I got the job, yay!) So I spent the past few days making all this.

Please honestly tell me what you think!

I have more fabulous charms to use and ideas, I'm bustin' to go!

I have a few questions for you crafty folk:

1. Taking photos, any tips or ideas of how I can do better? I'm debating making a necklace stand from cardboard, which I saw on here a few days ago as it looks fab. Any other links or tips?
2. I'm debating joining craftster (I'm sure it's addictive though!) any other communities on here or on the net I could join?
3. Etsy, do people from the uk shop there? I'm happy to post worldwide, but I'm wondering if that will put people off.

And addictions... how many people here suffer from boxes full of things they 'probably' will use one day!? I can't be alone!

I have a question!

I'm have a plain pair of vans slip ons. They are canvas shoes and I want to spice them up. I read some entries about converse but I didn't exactly get my answer.

Question: If you are painting on canvas shoes, should I use acrylic or fabric paint? And should I use a varnis after to prevent cracking?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there! This is my first post here, I've been into DIY for a few months.
Lately I've been doing some of these guys:

This one has been hand-sewed, but I'll use my sewing machine for the next ones!
Of course, it's a brooch {um is it the right word? I dunno xD}. It's about 6 centimetres height and I'm planning on making other shapes apart from skulls, like bunnies, spiders, sweets, teeth, pigs, etc.

Would you people buy one of those? If sol, how much would you pay for them?
Thanks :]

I have a question about quilting. I am looking to get some fabric for a craft swap I am doing; my partner requested some fabrics for use in quilting. Now, I've never quilted, so I need to know how much fabric is necessary for that. Would half a yard per fabric be sufficient? Thanks, I'm clueless.

So for my Halloween party I'm putting together some massive goodie-bags for all six of my dinner guests. I'm going to make little dead terrariums with tombstones et al, but I'm wondering how to make the dirt... well, stay would be a good word. Since nothing actually has to grow inside the jars I thought it would be a good idea to make it durable, because I can see one of my friends diving into their bags and their terrariums going all topsy turvy and getting ruined.

I figure glue, but I don't know. Maybe spray some foam with adhesive and cover it in dirt? I've read about, "great stuff", is it? That foam junk. Or maybe MonsterMud in some fashion. I guess I could play around with Elmers and dirt...

Ideas?

Thanx in advance!

have been working my butt off all night making this sucker and I think I did much better tonight than I did with my last monster.

What do you think? I took the 2nd one so you could see the size of him.
My son has named him "Friend".
