I bought a cute purse recently. I love it and everything, but it's just a bit too plain for my taste. Anyone have any suggestions of things that I can do to spice it up a bit? Thanks in advance =D

so my friend and i just spontaneously decided to try dyeing yarn for the first time tonight! :D
it was lots of fun and we were both really happy with the way ours turned out. (we each dyed a skein.)
i plan on taking more pictures tomorrow when i can use natural light and the colours of the yarn will show better. buuuut. since i am so excited about the yarn and absolutely love it, i had to post with a couple of pictures! :) we mostly followed this yarn dyeing tutorial.

a couple more pictures. )

Is there anything to do with old socks? Like ones that have holes in the heels or in the toes. I just feel bad throwing them away knowing that there has to be something i can do with them.

Does anyone have any tips about making lines on stationery?
I tried using the line tool in Photoshop, but I can't get the spacing how it needs to be. There must be an easier way.

Thanks ♥

EDIT:
I figured it out. I ended up using the line tool to make two lines and then copying them. It worked pretty well. Thank you to everyone that gave suggestions!

I just bought myself a Nintendo DS that'll be here soon, and I'd like to make a cozy for it. It'll be more or less my first sewing project, but my mom went to FIT for fashion design so I have her to help me out if it's a little too complicated for a newbie.

I know some people have posted their DS cozies in the past, but with this community's high traffic I have no idea how far back they were posted, I just remember seeing them. Does anybody have any links for those posts or better yet, a pattern?

OH, ALSO! I used to be very into these 2-foot high resin dolls and I bought a lot of 4mm Swavorski crystals which were the perfect size for making jewelry for them. But now that I've gotten out of the hobby, I have a TON of these tiny crystals I'm not sure what to do with. Does anyone have any suggestions for them? They're these. I have lots of them in various colors.

Okay so im new here and recentley i have just become really interested in craft things. I was looking at the lipbalm FAQ section but still have a worry of my lip balm melting in my pocket. Is there no way of making sure this wont happen. I would like to sell some of my lip balms but i dont want the customer have lipbalm all over there pocket.

Also for my lib balm tins i wanted to create my own label for it in a circular shape does anyone know how i can do this anything i can buy?

Thanks again :)

I'm currently in college in a big city minus a car. And there is NOWHERE to buy yarn that you can get to without paying a taxi $80.

I used to order from Michaels online years ago, but I went to try again now that I actually need to, and they don't sell craft supplies online anymore!

Does anyone know of a chain craft store that sells online? (I'm asking for big names because I'm pariniod about shopping on the internet)

Any help would be MONDO appreciated.

Oh, and to make up for the text-only post, I'll have some stuff up by the end of tonight for ya'll to look at!

Odd queastion - I just got a new cell phone. this cell phone lacks a nifty 'hoop' part for me to attach my cell phone charms on it. NOw I have plans to somehow glue a small metal O ring or Jump ring to the plastic case.

Queastion - what glue is best? this ring will not need to support much weight but might get tugged on accidently. so I need it to be strong.

notes: This is a camera flip phone - it has no add on case that goes over top. so drilling is a no no. I cannot attatch things to my antenna due to the fact I have plans to buy an actual antenna charm from strapya.com *check the http://www.strapya.com/keitai-style.htm *

THIS is my phone.

http://www.letstalk.com/product/product.htm?prId=29329

I need help to attach a jump ring by some sort of glue that will not melt or kill the plastic case - TO the plastic case.. a glue that will hold I do not know of. I need to do this so I can attach my cell phone charms - straps ect to it.

due to the annoying fact my phoen didn't come with the proper hole. BUt I don't give up. I will find a way.

ok due to my 'stroke of genius'

..... would E6000 work to glue pony beads to the back and let them stay there? I have an idea..

My mom gave me an old belt from the 70's which was this incredibly ugly polyester fabric. She let me take of the buckle and make my own belt.
The scarf was sort of an experiment of mine. It's a little short for my liking and it's not warm at all but it's pretty cute.

I love making earrings. They're fast and simple to make, but the results are always great. Please tell me what you think! These were all for a craft fair back in November, but for some really strange reason they didn't sell too well. Eh, it happens.

Hope you enjoyed!

Well, I just got finished my very first attempt at embroidery, putting a tattoo design onto a pair of blue jeans. For a first project, I think it worked out pretty well.

The original design may be found here, and was created with the permission of the artist.

I made this necklace/earring set for myself a while ago, to coordinate with a tapestry fabric used in some garb of mine. Originally, the centerpiece pendant was intended to be a fine-silver-work heraldric rose with a garnet cabachon in the middle. Unfortunately, the pendant had an accidental run-in with a sword as we were rushing to get ourselves ready for Faire. With no time to re-make it and unwilling to wear even slightly broken work (one of the leaflet points was snapped off), I substituted it with this Bali-style piece of sterling filigree (set with a faceted garnet cab.), which is actually half of a set of cloak clasps.
