I had mentioned I'd been making a ton of shrinky dinks lately. Yeah. Well, here are some of them, not all from very recently, but since um...May-ish, I guess. Yeah. PRetty pic-heavy!

oh so much )

yep! Probably more to come within a month or so. Also some more stenciled stuff, and hopefully some sewing projects!

And a question: anyone know anything about melting records to make bowls? I want to do it with some 7" (not anything rare, I promise I'l go to the thrift store and get something scratched and horrible for 99 cents) and maybe a few 12", but I don't know what temp to use to get them soft but not, like, liquid. Iknow I read it somewhere but it was when I was maybe 10, so that was a while ago.

So, my friends and I were in JoAnne's the other day and I found really adorable cherry-print fabric that made me go 'Le gasp! I need a new tote!' So what did I do? ..well duh, I made a new tote. It's all cute and reversible and stuff [not that I plan on reversing it, but the point is that it's POSSIBLE] and I'm pretty proud of it, so I thought I'd post it here for you guys to see.

This way for cherry-tastic goodness.. [+4] )

I've designated it my Philosophy Bag. Now all of my philosophy things shall live there so I don't have to drag around my heavy messenger bag all day for my ONE Tuesday-Thursday class.

And, since I'm posting, I may as well show you the pillow I made to test out my sewing machine. Yay for recycling! [+1] )

And this is Rupert, my lovely little Brother LS-2125i. He's awesome and you know it.. [+2] )

I know I promised pictures of our suite for you guys, but I haven't gotten there yet. Eventually. I swear. Really.

And and and and..my friends and I are totally starting a campus knitting and crocheting club. It's going to be made of awesome and win and [most likely] estrogen. I'm excited. :D

Ideas?

My parents have a craft fair coming up this weekend, and I was wondering if anyone had any simple craft ideas that are inexpensive to make & don't take very long? I usually make things that are geared towards kids because alot are attracted to my Dads wooden toys. . I glimpsed through the memories, but I just don't know what I am looking for, not until I see it, lol. So any ideas would be much appreciated!!

Bottle Caps

I thought I would do this as a seperate entry from the one I just did so it could go in the memories. .

While I was glimpsing through the memories I saw crafts in which you use bottle caps. At A.C. Moore they have little books for kids that come with what you need to make certain projects, and they have one that has the metal bottle caps. . What it is, is you put a stickered design on the inside *I guess you could say the side the faces down when on the bottle* and you take a random little toy that fits in the cap and you can use clear hot glue and fill the cap 1/2 way and let it sit & it holds the toy in place. Its kind of hard to explain & I tried looking on AC Moore for the book, but can't. . If you're interested and want to know more just let me know & I will try to explain better. Its a great little idea thats quick. The only difference is the kit doesn't say to use hot glue, they give you a lacquer, but I think that the clear hot glue would do the same!

Hey everyone. Sorry this is only text, but only have the internet for a few days before I'm back to uni. I love to make handmade paper, and already learnt how to do it with coleg.

Problem...

What material is it that you use to put in the embroidery hoop to catch all the paper?
(Sorry if that makes no sense). But i've been trying to find the material, I thought it was just called mesh but clearly I'm mistaken. And I can't find anything that i used in coleg around the places nr mine, so if anyone knows a good internet site that would be ace too.

But yeh if anyone knows the material used to put in the embroidery hoop when making paper that would be such a Huge help to me!!!

Thankyou
xxxxx

each of these photos contains no fewer than 12 ninjas.

For the boyfriend - since I'm rather broke at the moment. Broke - but crafty. Like a ninja.

Even with cramps I can't be stopped LOL

Skull and Crossbones on red sparkle vinyl.

I seem to be having problems with my color balance in my camera and really had to do a lot of adjusting in photoshop which is a bummer. Anyone have a digital camera with a really good macro and has really good color balance?

I'm so sorry for a text only post, but with Halloween and pumpkin carving I have a burning question.

can you dye wool with pumpkin? I was washing seeds off and it turned the water this bright orange and I was hoping someone else had tried it before...

If you wanted to put some memories together in a locket (and by memories, I mean multiple photos and bits of writing - say, four to six bits of paper in a locket that only fits two), how do you make that look cool and pretty? I'm thinking of trying to tape all these things together with tiny bits of tape and have it fold out like an accordion, but that probably wouldn't look all that nice. Any other ideas?

Similarly, if you were to do the same kind of thing, but with decoupaging pictures, writing, printed words and other assorted things into a book, how do you make that look pretty? I've done a few pages, and I managed to put in the things I want, but they still look plain. I was thinking of maybe applying a thin layer of water colour paint to fill in white spaces, and maybe even over writing (would pencil or ink show through underneath it?) to make it a bit less drab. However, I don't know if watercolour would show over decoupage medium. Any thoughts?

Thanks for your help.

Hi there. This is my first time posting to this community, but I have really enjoyed "watching" it and seeing all the awesome creativity that abounds here! I wanted to share my first attempt at sewing a pleated skirt. I'm a beginner seamstress just learning by doing, and figuring out how to do pleats was really exciting for me. I picked up this fabric without a project in mind, and I had made simple A-line skirts before but wanted something more dramatic for The King. So here's what I came up with. The yoke is pretty wide because I like a nice thick waistband on skirts. It has a back zipper. And yes, that is black velvet trim.

My latest assemblage piece is titled "The Oracle Shrine of Ottas".
(behind the cut this post is quite image heavy)

The only thing that I knew was that I wanted to alter an old toaster, one of the older style ones with the rounded corners and top but do you think that I could find one? I searched in my local recycle center, op-shops, on an online auction site and I even asked around to see if anyone I knew had one, but no luck. After almost deciding to give up on the idea I ended up finding one that would do, it wasn't as old as I would have liked but it was the closest toaster that I could find in the shape that I was after.

Isn't it cute? Very rounded and almost art-deco in style. It cost me $4 from the recycle center.

Hi everyone. This is my first time posting here though I commented on some posts before. I love all of the creations posted here and hope to be able to make them myself someday.

Today, I made a necklace out of some acrylic loops (I'm not sure what they're called exactly) that I found a week ago. The finished necklace can be seen under the cut.

My problem is that the necklace looks unfinished when it's worn, like it's too bare and plain? I don't know if it's just me or there really is something missing. I'd really appreciate comments and suggestions. Thanks!
